Also an author, love the fantasy and ski fi genre, looking forward to interesting chats and supporting other authors in the group.

I am happy to join this group!

Hey there, Brian! Welcome to the group.

I have written two books "Wishing for a Parallel World - - a supernatural romance and Those Were Not Love Letters But Still I Fell in Love - a contemporary romance but due to paying job, I stopped writing and couldn't focus on my passion for writing further. But now I keep getting wake up calls and I truly want to focus on my passion and I need help of book lovers like you to support me.
If you would like to read and review my book, please let me know. I would really and highly appreciate it.
Kind Regards
Arriah

Since my search was fruitless, I've started another group called Women of the Future. If anyone is interested in just chatting about women in SciFi books, movie, TV etc. please pop by. We may start monthly reads if there is enough interest.
Please note, it's not a place for authors to promote their works.

I’m an author of Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Dystopia novels but first and foremost, I’m an avid reader and big Sci-Fi fan since childhood.
I have published a book series in Germany and am now about to bring out my debut in English in the US.
My favorite authors (and influences) are Isaac Asimov, Stanislaw Lem, and Phillip K. Dick, but I also enjoy reading modern authors such as Daniel H. Wilson, Richard Morgan, and James S.A. Corey. Besides reading, I love Sci-Fi in movies and television, and I’m a passionate gamer. I’m looking forward to exchanging thoughts and opinions with other Sci-Fi fans in this group.

I've read science-fiction since I was a kid. I enjoy Ursula K Leguin, Sheri Tepper, Octavia Butler, Margaret Atwood, etc and I would like to know more great writers. Looking for animal-friendly science-fiction
Is anybody in Barcelona? We might start a book club ..
Take care and keep on reading.
Marga

thank you very much!!

As for the written sci-fi, there are far too many books to mention. My love for the genre started with Dune, then Ender's Game. And is never-ending.
If I were stranded on a deserted island, my Kindle would definitely be part of my 'survival' kit :)

I see a comment above that the group isn't very active; I was more active but I'm taking a journalism degree so had to drop quite a lot during term while I got documentaries made. I'll try to drop by more often.
Currently I'm reading the Hugo voting packet as I am helping to organise Worldcon in Dublin. I'm delighted that many of the works are written by women.

..."I feel the same way! Nice to meet you Rhea!!

In my imagination, it's not even a Kindle, but a far more advanced version of an E-reader. With holo features (to enhance the reading experience, of course), and no more tapping to turn the page, it gets quite tedious (optical tracking or something).
And thanks, I'm happy to be here.

Yay! I'll toast to like-minded people. Virtual cheers! So nice to meet you too

I am an avid reader, enjoying authors like Orson Scott Card, Atwood, Asimov and Heinlein.
I am happy to finally be here.

Nice to meet you Jill and welcome to the group.

I'm looking for some new sci-fi to read. Most of the authors that I have read in this genre are male, so if anyone has any female written books that they would recommend, please let me know!

Since this group hasn't been active for a while, over a year ago I started another group for women in SciFi & Speculative fiction. We have over 200 members now and regular monthly reads. Our bookshelf has 700+ women authored books, and none of them are YA.
Come and check out our group Women of the Future . It's a private group to ensure we don't get spam and trolls, but we accept 99% of those who request to join. You don't need to join to view our bookshelf because we believe in #readingmorewomen

All the best 😁

Hi, my name is Khira. I am new to the group (and to Goodreads). I've been an avid science fiction reader all my life and the topic of women's voice in sci-fi is very important to me. (Some thoughts on this in a blog here.) My inspirations are Ursula K Le Guin and Nicola Griffith. I also want to read more by Octavia E. Butler. Other recommendations are most welcome.

Recently I had the privilege of completing and self-publishing a full-length novel about the origins of a pandemic called 'Protocell 3: Dormancy'. It wasn't about COVID-19 but it certainly was food for the novel.
Thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself! Jessica

While I do write, I also professionally edit, proofread, and beta read. I'm not sure the rules on posting advertisements for services in this group, so I'll refrain, but please feel to reach out to me if you're interested in more information about what I offer on the editing front.
Now back to my WIP!
