message 51: by Darrin (new)

Darrin (darrinlettinga) I entered the university with the intention of going into the biological sciences. I had had an inspiring biology teacher in high school, took the AP exam for Biology and scored well enough to come into college with credit. This took a nose dive when I decided the math part of my degree would be too hard for me. In hindsight this was a decision I wish I had not made but here I am....

I can relate, Darrin. I loved math in high school and started college as a math major. But when I got into college calculus and could only get a B because I felt I didn't really get it, I changed my major to French. Stupid decision, especially since I didn't even discuss it with my math professor.

Hayley | 55 comments I don't have a background in any science (have a minor in political science, but that doesn't really count), but I read magazines, online articles, and books about science. I also watch TV programs such as "How the Universe Works" and "Impossible Engineering" to further educate myself.

Nick Crutchley (nickcrutchley) I hold

A bachelors degree in Management sciences.

A masters degree in Ecology and Conservation, with a specialism in climate change and blanket bog ecosystems.

A masters degree by research in the molecular detection of aquatic macrophytes using environmental DNA (eDNA)

I was the first person in the UK to use the eDNA method to collect a water sample from a natural environment, extract DNA in that sample, and detect and aquatic plant using only its eDNA.

I use my knowledge of economics and ecological to write fiction books about humankind's destruction of the biosphere.

Ibrahim Oksuz | 1 comments I have a BS and MS in Physics. I am a Ph.D. student in Nuclear Engineering right now. I like to discuss anything related to science.

𝑨. 𝑺𝒐𝒍 ✨ (astrosol) | 1 comments ah, still a middle school student :), but I'm definitely going to study cosmology or astronomy (haven't decided yet) in collage.
I know it is too early though I'm looking forward for getting ms and PhD. Ambitious kid I know..

Ambition is good. Helps you set goals early and costs nothing. :) Good luck with your aspirations!
