message 28: by Maya (new)

Maya White | 734 comments I have a question: do you have to go in order of the level? Like if I had a book that fit level one but not level two could I do that or does if have to be a book that fits level one, then two, then three? I hope this makes sense.

You do not have to go in order of level and can work on more than one level at a time. Does that answer your question?

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Maya wrote: "Also does Red Rising (Red Rising, #1) by Pierce Brown fit for anything?"

You can count it for Spirited Away, Level Two: Fantasy Novel.

message 35: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (last edited May 27, 2016 11:50AM) (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments I have a couple of questions regarding some books I want to read for the challenge.

1. For Jumanji Level Three set in a jungle. Can it be set in the jungle for only about a chapter or does it have to be the whole book?

2. For Jumanji Level One Game Board/Game Pieces. Since there are a variety of games if we can find a specific game with the piece we want to use can we use that 'game piece'? For instance I want to use Bitterblue (Graceling Realm, #3) by Kristin Cashore which has keys on the cover. I found a game called Locke & Key which has a physical key in the game. It even is the same type of key.

3. For West Side Story Level Two and Three. Do retellings count and do you have any example I can see?

message 36: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Hi, Bookbuyer! Let me try to give you some answers. Sorry for taking so long.

1) It would need to be set in a jungle/wikderness for a large portion of the book.

2) Yes. You can count that.

3) Yes, retellings count. Let me check and come back with some examples, the names aren't coming to my head right now!

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Here's a list of retellings of classics (including R&J): https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Another few question:

1. Would Child X by Lee Weatherly count for Groundhog Day Level Two: Involves television/news show.

2. Would Juliet's Nurse by Lois Leveen count Modern interpretation of Romeo and Juliet.

message 40: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yes, both of those are fine.

Alrighty. Thank you! I'll count that for that, but then I have another question: what would The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken go for? I had that as Spirited Away, Level Two: Fantasy Novel, but I'll use Red Rising for that. Would Darkest Minds work for Jaws, Level One: Frightening/Unnerving? or Finding Nemo, Level One: Orange and White? Although it doesn't have all that much white on it

message 47: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments It will work for the Jaws level. :)
