Deanna | 33 comments Where did Kenia get the list of Philosophy books?

Kenia Sedler (keniasedler) | 240 comments Mod
Hey Deanna! So what I did was go to the St. John’s College website and pull the seminar reading lists/curriculums from both their Santa Fe and Annapolis campuses. I also pulled from both of their western as well as eastern classics lists. I didn’t follow them exactly, but those lists were the foundation I started from when creating a “philosophy” category.

I hope that helps! :-)

Howard P (howard_pavane) | 7 comments Hi Kendra. I recently joined this group. I’ve wanted to read classics in chronological order for awhile. When I found this group, I decided to start reading the oldest book I could find; Gilgamesh written 2000 years BCE was a fascinating poem that took me back in time.

I’ve previously read Beowulf, which would have been my next book. I appreciate the comprehensive list you put together. As a History book lover, reading the Classics over time, puts events in context.

Thanks for this group and for the list of classics chronologically.

Sarah (sarahbethie) Thank you for putting the list together. It’s very helpful! I’m working through Boxall’s 1000 Books and Harold Bloom’s Great Books. This is an excellent complement.
