drbooks | 5 comments What makes you a book addict? Some define book addicts as those who prefer to read over eating, sleeping, and/or hanging with friends. I would like to hear what everyone thinks.

Heidi Angell (heidiangell) If you can't go more than a week without reading a book, I would say that makes you an addict. If you will put off other things in life just so you can read, that makes you an addict. Do you have to do it all the time? No... but if your personality changes when you don't get your fix... definition of an addict. If you need to read, not just want or enjoy... those are behaviors that make people addicts.

Mandy Reading does gives great comfort & joy.

I love getting lost in a great story and I also put off other things so I can read. I even ignore the phone, TV, husband and kids when I am reading a great book! And, I am usually buying 2-3 books a week despite having too many books in my must read pile and not enough hours in the day free to read them!
