So, what doesn't excite you - what do you loathe - about the natural world that makes you pick up a so-called bodice ripper instead of a truly mind expanding general science book, like Cosmos? Come on, let's have it, bitchez!

As eye-popping as it is, it wasn't the science in Cosmos that grabbed me as much as the personalities and the history they brought with them. Galileo, Kepler, Huygens, Newton.... courtesy of Sagan's deft pen, each had a fascinating tale to tell.
Likewise their precursors from the classical world, in many ways as great but sadly all but forgotten.
