Beyond Reality discussion

SPOILERS only through the first half of the book, up to about page 200, the section entitled "Cerrmor and Eldidd 790-797".

The bulk of this section gives us another incarnation of the main characters, this time as Gweniver, Ricyn, and Dannyn, with Nevyn, of course. So much vengeance and jealousy.

We also get to meet some of the dark dweomer-masters and learn more about the Westfolk.

I'm still hoping for more explanation of how dweomer works and how one masters it, but I'm afraid that until the Brangwen/Lyssa/Gweniver/Jill character accepts her Wyrd, we may not learn that information.

Slowly we seem to be meeting each reincarnation of the main characters. I wonder of that will take us through these first several books.

I'm at 28% and I'm finding it not living up to memory. It feels dated, the dialogue seems posh English at times, given that the context is more Welsh. Also the battle crazy priestess and Dannyn!!!

I thought "classic" rather than "dated", but these early books in the cycle were published in the early to mid 1990s. I wonder if the later books will have a different feel. I think the last book was published in 2009.

It's possible. I read the first eight and loss then so much. I'm keeping going, for now at least.
