Hey guys! I just finished Crown of Embers, so I'm posting my thoughts now!

Crown of Embers 13%
(view spoiler)[Everyone in her own court seems to be gunning for her. I know she's from another part of Joya, but still, she was a hero and saved them all. I kinda expected a bit more gratitude. I also thought the country turning against her was so sudden, when everyone was cheering in the parade. It was like as soon as that one scene was over, everyone just got mad. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I was starting to wonder when this elusive and mysterious Franco would appear! It seemed as if he was pulling most of the strings, without anyone actually knowing him. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I'm really starting to get annoyed with Ximena. I could've sworn she stated at some point that Elisa and Hector would be a good match politically, but suddenly she is so against it? Maybe she's seeing Elisa rely more on Hector as a guardian, and she's feeling replaced or jealous? I mean there's no other explanation for her behavior. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[One thing that's annoying me is how everyone keeps talking about how inadequate, incompetent, and what a failure of a queen that Elisa is, but I haven't seen any examples of her being a bad queen? Just people trying to kill her, and thus her not healing fast enough before her Quorem decides to randomly do something that makes her look bad. I'm just confused as to why she's a terrible queen. Sure, she's not super strong against her peers, but she's not a bad queen at all, just relatively average at the moment. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I'm glad we get to see Hector's POV! In the other books he was pretty guarded and hid himself well, so I'm curious to see what he's really like. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Anyone else here rooting for Mara's survival? I'm starting to like her, and the people close to Elisa don't tend to usually survive, if Book One was any example. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I know that was kind of the point, but I found Elisa's "service" to be extremely anticlimactic. I feel like it was kinda just thrown in there so the author could wrap up the godstone storyline, but I feel having the ending be how Elisa isn't done yet because she still has it might've been a bit more "powerful," and could've left readers wondering. Well I finished the crown of ember, love it.
Will read the biter kingdom in a few weeks I think.
