I got a 1974 pocket Penguin book edition. Physically going back in time (with the yellowed pages, the old-book smell, etc.)

I love that old book smell!
I got the Kindle version. I just don't have time to go out to a book store or a library (even if I can reserve it online, I still have to physically go there to pick it up).

Peter, can you share where you found the epub edition?

I also found an epub version. If anyone wants it send me your email addresses.

"Billy Liar" is every bit as good as the film. The sense of time and place are stunningly evoked, and each character depiction is convincing and vivid. Brilliantly written, Billy Liar perfectly captures that moment when adult responsibilities impinge on teenage dreams, as Billy attempts to avoid responsibility, and rise above conformity and mediocrity. A mere 150 pages, this book is an enduring classic - funny, provocative, and profound.
