What are your thoughts about this book? Which is your favourite and least favourite character?

Quick note: I'm not sure if people will read this before finishing the book so I've put anything that might ruin the story in spoilers.

Just finished this book - really enjoyed it but I have always been a sucker for a mystery book.

I really liked the character of Cormoran in the end - at first I thought I was going to find him quite annoying. I also really liked (but also found intensely frustrating) the fact that Cormoran seemed to have worked out all the clues by about 3/4 of the way through but didn't share with us what he thought had happened!

I did suspect the eventual culprit a few times during the book but, to be honest, I think I suspected everyone at some point! I just found the culprit's actions hard to justify in my head before the explanation at the end.

(view spoiler)[Only thing that I find can get a bit repetitive with mystery books though, and which this book also did, was having the big stand-off with the killer at the end. I know it's probably the more entertaining way of ending it but would be nice to see something different. (hide spoiler)]

Definitely going to be reading the other books in the series though :)

I agree with you about Cormoran. I felt that exact same thing, although in the third book, I found him annoying towards the end.

Yes, you should definitely read the rest of the books! :) I finished the third one not long ago, and I'm dying for the next book!

I don't know why, but I'm finding it really hard to get in to this book. Maybe it's because I'm in the middle of another series. I want to love it so much because JK Rowling is love, but merh. I'll give it one last effort before I put this back on the shelf.

That's strange. A lot of people liked it.

I've not gotten terribly far in. I really think I'm just too focused on the series I'm currently reading. I hate switching worlds, y'know? I'll have to finish the book I'm on, then completely focus on this.

I hate switching books too. That's why I always complete one book before starting another.
