paced reading horror and thrillers discussion

This one wasn't picked for the group read as it's part of a series but it had a few votes so I thought some of you might want to buddy read it.

Started this today and it's a very fast read so far, I'm at 26% and will probably read a bit more tonight.
I'm wondering what the deal is with Logan's gf Samantha, I remember from the last book that she was seriously ill but I can't quite figure out what is going on when he interacts with her.(view spoiler)[I think she is in a coma and he is having imaginary conversations with her to keep himself positive about her condition (hide spoiler)]

I'll start this one tomorrow and try to keep up! I only read the first two so I might need to get some filler info from you as I go along.

I actually made it to 19% last night! It does read pretty fast. The plot is pretty interesting so far. I have no idea who Samantha is but the way he interacts with her and after your comment, I'm not sure if she's...alive? I'm also wondering what the actresses and the witch movie might have to do with the burning?

I'll buddy read THE MAGPIES with anyone who wants to, after I finish the group read. (Or get to at least 25%. )

Samantha is Logan's techy girlfriend. (view spoiler)[In the last book someone set fire to his apartment and he and Samantha had to escape. She was seriously injured but you didn't find out what happened to her at the end so it's hard to tell if she's really there talking to him or still completely out of it. (hide spoiler)]

I can't believe how fast you read this one Kate! Speedie Mcspeederson :) My kid came down with a fever so I missed a day of reading more or less, hope to catch up soon.

I haven't read a book this fast for a very long time. I have the next one in the series if you're interested?

There's so much gong on in this one, lots of red herrings and misdirection.
