Okay this is one of my favourite chapters so far.

The bad thing with TV series is that we miss some of the coolest stuff happening in the books. For instance, in this chapter we see a different kind of magic with the ravens helping Sam, talking to him, attacking the others to protect him.

Also the elk rider is obviously a magical creature, since his hands are described as black and cold and hard as stone. He seems pretty dead... I was wondering...How many kinds of dead folk are there?? So far I've read about wights(cannot be killed with dragonglass), and others (can be killed with dragonglass) and then there is this guy who seems cold and lifeless and yet he had the sense to save people...

Ooooh! Yeah I remember reading this name. I though it was just a nickname.. He hasn't revealed his face yet! I guess we'll wait and see!

I wonder if it's the same crow that followed the Lord Commander around (Mormont).

I was thinking the same thing! I've always wondered how Mormont came across that crow, btw. What's so special about it and why did it follow him around? I somehow can't think of it as just a pet.
