Wendy | 581 comments I am a FB Innocence Project subscriber. They are winning cases because of new DNA science and discrediting junk science like bite mark identication. So what else is junk science??

Annette Macintyre | 16 comments Good question, Wendy. I didn't know bite mark evidence is junk science. I have read about cases where a very distinctive dental pattern can be matched. I am looking forward to replies to your query.

Carol (carolfromnc) | 15200 comments Wendy is correct; bite mark analysis has been discredited since at least late 2014. It's worth Googling to read the history of its use as evidence in criminal matters.

Wendy | 581 comments I am a huge fan of NCIS, CSI Los Vegas, etc.(Though CSI Miami was meh) I am WELL AWARE that these shows are bs with their high technology availability, finger print miracles and time tables. However, blood splatter analysis, bite marks, and some fire forensics have been challenged.
