Ria (ban1chka) | 440 comments Don't you dare turn your back on the old gods, Jon, don't you dare! Oh, I remember my first time reading this, I was so afraid. I read Jon's next chapter yelling "DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! DO NOT. EVEN. THINK. ABOUT IT!" at the pages.

Riddle me this, though. Melisandre said the Others were servants of the God of Night and it was Azor Ahai who was to defend the world against them. Yet when the Wall was built, the Lord of Light was not involved. In fact, that secret weirwood gate we saw was proof that the spells that protect the Wall from the Others are the magic of the old gods, the greenseers and the children of the forest. And what about the fact that the men who guard the realms of men against the wights are called the Night's Watch? So what is the Lord of Light doing here? He has power, that is true, but he is cruel and I do not believe him. We have also not had any proof whatsoever about the existence of the Seven. And where did the Drowned God come from? The Old gods are the gods of the Children, so they come from Westeros and have always been there. The Andals brought the Seven with them, the God of Light is from Asshai, The Faceless God (is he a God, though? I don't remember) is from Braavos... but how come there are different gods on Pyke?
