I would have thought twice about publishing something so personal about your child. The internet is so public and it never goes away. Would you really want the child, one day, to read that?

And I guess my response would be this: do you think that children are unaware when their parents don't love/care about them? Trust me, they are.

Sure, it was a difficult read, from an emotional perspective. And I'm sure it was even more difficult to write ... to say nothing of wrestling with issues of abandonment, etc. If the writer found it therapeutic to put out there, I say good for her.
