I still wonder who was in Veronica's house to hear about $1 M supposedly in the briefcase. I didn't quite get the timing down as to when the newspapers were stuffed into the overnight bag that the homeless man had in his possession. I failed to see how they could have gotten him to a hotel and have been able to set up the sting.
Ray Powers was in Veronica's house and heard the lie about the $1 million.
They moved the homeless man into the hotel immediately after leaving Veronica's house and then set up the sting. They were out there until nightfall when Powers showed up.

Ditto, Robin. I wasn't wild about starting this one because of the title. Boy was I greatly surprised and pleased!

The first half was too slow and had too much focus on the Las Vegas end, which was so obviously misdirection. I knew it was the wife from the first meeting with her.
The second half was better once the investigation into Veronica got going. I did think that her accomplice was the security guard (Nash I think his name is) and not Powers.
I did like Goshen's character and hope we see more of him. He seems like an OK guy. Doesn't hold a grudge.
I was really slow to catch on to Veronica, even though Vegas felt like misdirection but I knew something important was going on there. The Goshen shocker spun this story into a more interesting direction.
I do think the audio version makes a huge difference. I was never bored.
