OMG sooo wanted to jump Apollo during the beginning when he kept on talking that trash about being human. The human population took offense to that, but I love Apollo anyway. He is hilariously funny even for me, but that ending where Meg betrayed Apollo hurt my feels real badly. I can't believe Meg ran away from Apollo, but at the same time she was a true hero who is being brain washed by her evil stepfather Nero that evil beast. Meg betrayed Apollo, yet she managed to save the forest, and run away in the process. I'm still hurting all over and already miss Meg, hoping Nero doesn't hurt her, but I get the feeling he will. Also hooray Leo is back at the end I deserve to punch him in the arm too, but I will save that for when he makes it over to camp Jupiter. I'm so glad to have Leo back so glad he will accompany Apollo on this journey, because Leo is the funniest guy I know. I love getting to see Percy too and we all know Annabeth is busy in Boston due to Magnus Chase. I can't wait for the crossover between Greek and Norse mythology. I also loved how LGBT friendly this book was. Apollo being bi shocked me "ops" I mean pansexual. So glad he wasn't prick to his son Will Solace. Bummed out that I finished this book so soon now I have to play the waiting game... >.<"

I'm not sure why it would be shocking, none of the myths have been censored regarding the sexual escapades of the Greek and Roman gods. In fact I found it amusing about some of the "concern" readers had with regards to Hades' opinion about Nico being gay, since the gods didn't care about sexuality.

But I agree, this was a very friendly LGBT book as far as mainstream children's lit is concerned. I particularly liked how Apollo wasn't sure which member of a boy-girl couple he wanted to pursue.

I liked the writing with Meg. I think it would've been a little cliche for her to just magically realize "Oh, Nero is evil. Shucks! Better change sides!" and stick with the team. Riordan did a fantastic job of writing very realistic emotional abuse for Meg. That's not the kind of thing you just snap out of, and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of her story.

And yeah, Apollo, he's always chased...everyone. Very like his Dad, that one, which is the reason Hera tried to prevent his birth to begin with actually. Shouldn't have been too big a shock to anyone. In fact, I think the already accepted idea that the Greek Gods were pretty loose about sexuality was a great way to include the topic in the book without having to make a big deal about it.

I wasn't expecting him to be a prick to his kids, but what I did enjoy is that Apollo didn't just like his kids but actually respected them. He was openly proud of them. That was cool.

When I first clicked on this I thought we were all gonna talk about how amazing Leo is cause seriously that was one of my favorite parts.

Can't wait for Leo in the next book cause he'll probably be a big part of it. And I hope we see the other 6 ! Like Piper and Jason or Frank and Hazel. I also want to see Annabeth with Percy !
