10.4. Don't Leave Home Without One
While you're on vacation, don't forget to take a good book. Read a book from the 2016 Best Genre Fiction list or the 2015 Best Genre Fiction list.

Read-alikes and short list books may be used, as well as the main selection. If a series is listed, without any particular book specified, you may read any book from that series.

NOTE: only books are allowed, even though the lists of read-alikes sometimes include movies and television shows.

REQUIRED: In your post, specify the list and category in which your book is located.

Deedee | 2345 comments For listings like
“Parasol Protectorate” (#1) series by Gail Carriger.
“Dune” (#1) Dune Chronicles by Frank Herbert.

Does any book from the whole series work for the task, or only the (#1) book of the series? (The (#1) is what prompts the question.) Thanks!

If a specific book is listed, that's the book you need to use. If only a series is listed, with no individual book mentioned, you can use any book in the series.

So, in the examples you give, that specific book is the one you need to read.

Thanks for clarifying!
