Marisa Poltrack [book whisperer] | 194 comments Hello friends,

So I have a decent amount of books on my bookshelf which, I am sure most of you do as well. I was wondering if anybody knew of a place to sell books at? Please let me know, thank you!

Jessica Holbrook (jessicalh08) | 133 comments I would find a independent used book store in your area. I think most of the time they will buy them from you or give you some store credit in exchange the books.

Kirsten (kmcripn) I second Jessica! Also, you can donate them. My local library has a "Friends of the Library" that sells "gently-used" books to raise money for the library.

Also, do you have a local hospice or cancer center? I'm sure they would welcome books for not only their patients but the visitors.

Thank you very much.. if the place I am thinking of is still open I will go there.

Sara If you are ok with trading them instead of selling them, you can post them to paperbackswap.com. You will earn credits to use to request books from other members.

Not sure why I didn't think of a library especially since, I bought some used books this weekend from there. I will have to look and see if I have a local hospice or cancer center as well!!

Thank you everyone!!

Jessica Holbrook (jessicalh08) | 133 comments Ahh Kristen! I second you too! I work at my local library and we just had our Friends of the Library sale and made almost $30,000! As an employee/regular patron of the library the money we make from the sale is always needed and appreciated.
