Grace Risata | 25 comments I just uploaded my second book to Amazon and it's in the Kindle Unlimited program. TWO separate people who offered to review my book and got it from Kindle Unlimited said the font is very light and difficult to read. Did anyone else ever hear of this problem? My first book was a word document that I uploaded right to amazon. This second book was a word document that I formatted to an epub with calibre so the paragraph indents would be correct. I called Amazon and the nice customer service rep (he was quite polite!) told me that it looked fine on his end. Did anyone ever hear of this? I saved the mobi from amazon to my computer and send it to my kindle and it looks perfect. I'm freaking out because I don't have KU and I can't check if it's really bad. I don't want people to not read the book because they can't read the book! Thanks for any help you can provide.

John Hooker | 90 comments Grace, I looked at its preview and it would seem that those two people did not look any further than the title page in which the font might be a "light' version of the basic font and its colour is grey. because of the larger font size, there was no problem reading it at all. I suppose they must have assumed the text was in the same font but of a smaller size. I could have downloaded a sample, but I have found that there is no great difference in the web view and what I see on my tablet. The body is in a serif font and thus easy to read even with the first part being in italics.
I cannot think of any other explanation than those two people looked only at the title page and made assumptions about the rest (how hard is it to flip a few pages?).

Grace Risata | 25 comments Thank you VERY much for checking. I was having a heart attack thinking that I did something wrong with the format. I can breathe a sigh of relief and go on to the next inevitable technical difficulty. I appreciate your help. Have a great night!
