The story follows Ayn, a lonely boy raised by priests who is told he must become their great messiah if he is to conquer the rampant illness and war that is destroying his galaxy. Book 1 begins with Ayn's mysterious birth and follows him as he discovers the world outside the palace. His life takes an unexpected turn, and he must find the hero within himself so he can save the people he loves. Book 2 finds the galaxy in turmoil while Ayn is tested even further.
