Tati Hey everyone!

(please don't leave me talking to myself LOL)

message 3: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments Hey

message 4: by Tati (new)

Tati I signed up as a solo player this month because I want to read within the challenge, without being accountable for it within a team, if that makes any sense. I've loved all my teams, but I needed a break from team madness. I'm crazy enough on my own these days LOL

message 5: by Tati (new)

Tati I don't think I've ever done a fun team. I've done serious every month, with exception of one month when I played with a medium team.

message 6: by Tati (new)

Tati In my worst month this year so far, I read 15 books, so that might be a tad too much for fun teams

message 7: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments My worst month was 15 too ☺️

message 8: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments I read fast, but my TBR isn't getting any smaller lol

message 9: by Tati (new)

Tati To be honest, that is an uphill battle LOL I don't think I'll ever be able to tame my TBR.

message 10: by Tati (new)

Tati That's a promise I've made and broken countless times LOL

message 11: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Hopefully i can read some books because we are probably going on vacation during the summer to California. I am also extremely excited cant wait :) But i have to fix my camera :( Hopefully i can do it before we leave. I am hoping to read only road trip books to get me in the mood while we travel to California in a car :D.

message 12: by Tati (new)

Tati How much of a distance is it?

message 13: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Well i live in Texas. :3 I am not exactly sure but i think my dad said like one day. I am not sure XD.

message 14: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Hey are u guys going anywhere for the summer?

message 15: by Tati (new)

Tati Well, it's not summer for me LOL

We're finally (finally!) getting some winter here!

message 16: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Are u excited. I love the snow but it doesn't snow very much in Texas. I like winter its perfect for reading indoors with a cup of tea or coffee. Yummy.

message 17: by Tati (new)

Tati The sad thing is, I don't get snow where I live.

In fact, my 'winter' wouldn't qualify as winter in Europe or the US (I live in Brazil, so getting 10°C means everyone is dressed like the world is ending)

message 18: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Aww that sucks. :(

message 19: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Well atleast try to enjoy the winter with some good books :D

message 20: by Connie (new)

Connie (sunstormsandthunderclouds) | 3978 comments I'm going to Greece for a week and maybe Prague but that's me staying at home other than that :)

message 21: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Ya! Are u guys excited. :D

message 22: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Omg! Me too. I hate when their lifting off to the sky. I kinda get adrenaline when we are lifting off but then again i cant seem to get enough air for my lungs to be satisfied because of the pressure of lifting off. Then we we stop going up and the plane levels its self i feel queasy. :3

message 23: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Omg im sorry i didnt mean to scare you its just how i felt about the experience. Im so sorry :(

message 24: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Yes i am. i think its through May, June, July, and a little bit of August.

message 25: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Hey everyone! I haven't been part of a challenge all year.... which killed me because I love doing these sorts of thing, but ugh, it's my last year of school and schoolwork is crazy.

I thought partipcating solo in such an open challenge would fin though. I don't think I'll get through that much though so hence the solo bit.

message 26: by Kirsty (new)

Kirsty (kirstysreviews) | 84 comments Hi everyone, I like that so many of us are going solo next month. Hopefully we can all have a bit of interaction in here throughout the month and have all the fun of the chat with none of the pressure to read. I'm such an inconsistent reader, I find it so tricky to pick which type of team to go for. Last month I joined fun and could have read enough books for a medium team, but lost my motivation because fun just didn't give me enough of a kick. This month I went for serious and have really picked my reading game up when I have the time, the problem is work has been getting in the way of that. I will still have read plenty enough books for serious by the end of the month, although nothing compared to some of the bigger readers. I feel like a slacker even though I will have read around 15 to 20 books by the end of the month. Meanwhile I haven't had the most chatty of teams this month. I enjoy a bit of chatter, so I hope some of you are up for it next month.

message 27: by Tati (new)

Tati Hi!! I love chatting away, so I'll definitely be here during the challenge!

message 28: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (boombaby13) | 4239 comments The solo chat is going to be the busiest on the boards for June. :)

message 29: by Karen (new)

Karen Barber | 13288 comments Hi all. Glad there'll be a chance to chat on here-that definitely keeps me motivated!

message 30: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Sounds good! I'm going to need all the motivation I can get though. I know what you though, Kirsty. Even having a 'slacker' month still means I read 15/20 so it isn't like I could join a fun team...

message 31: by Kirsty (new)

Kirsty (kirstysreviews) | 84 comments I'm jealous of your reading then Rachel. I am just too slow a reader/busy person I think. Me trying hard is 15-20 books a month. Most months this year I've read a small handful, my reading has been terrible this year. May definitely changed that and I'm back on a roll, but that's with me trying hard haha.

message 32: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Oh, oops! Sorry for the mix-up. I'm sorry to hear you're having a bad reading year. 2014 was a nightmarish year for me, and this year (reading-wise) is the best year has been surprisingly good for me. Hopefully, you'll stay on a roll...? *fingers crossed*

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

So, basically, we begin reading June 1 onwards. Gosh. I am excited :D

Yes, hopefully as I'm so behind on my ARCs it's not even funny. I am hoping to have a better reading year than last year, which was my best yet at 102 books read. I feel like taking part in these challenges really help motivate me, especially if I have people to chat to.

Yes Ritika, I'm excited too. If I didn't have a bunch of ARCs to get through I honestly think I would just work my way down the list because I own lots of the books but have barely read any of them.

message 35: by Tati (new)

Tati Less than 2 days to go!!

message 36: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments Ahh! For me it's tomorrow, and I'm so keen. I've been putting off reading anything new for the last two days really because I'm saving up.

message 37: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie One more day! Omg i cant wait to start out with a contemporary and then continue on from their. :D

message 38: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Hey do you guys know for the june 2016

message 39: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Lol sorry um do u guys know if we have to read the list of 2016 in order.

message 40: by Tati (new)

Tati I'll be starting it in 15 hours. I could actually start it in 9 hours, but I have to sleep LOL

message 41: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Lol sorry do u guys know if we have to read the 2016 june list in order that they put the list.

message 42: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Ima start today at 12:00am.

message 43: by Tati (new)

Tati Oh no, we don't. This is a pretty loose challenge: there is no order to read things, and we can do the same description more than once. Also, with a 100 different descriptions, if you read something that doesn't fit any of them, you should get a prize LOL

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

Is tomorrow already the 1st of June. Wow times flies fast! Also, don't know how well I'm going to do at this challenge.

message 45: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments I'm going to start with Soldier (Julie Kagawa) and then read The Mirror King (Jodi Meadows). I have it all planned out! I'm not usually a TBR sort of person... but this month I think it's a good idea.

message 46: by Xiamera (new)

Xiamera | 677 comments Hi everyone! I'm so glad June is in a few hours, I've been itching to read some of the books I picked out for the list. I have a couple in mind to start tomorrow. They should be fairly quick reads since I'm thinking I might be a bit busy.
I've gone solo since I didn't want to restrict myself to a certain number. I'm fairly new and have got one team challenge under my belt so far. I was on the medium team but I actually read more than I planned. I didn't want to commit to the serious team this time around and not be able to meet that quota so I'm quite glad solo was a choice.
Happy reading to everyone!

message 47: by Kirsty (new)

Kirsty (kirstysreviews) | 84 comments I won't be starting for another day or two. I've got several books left over from May that I need to finish. I had hoped to get them done over the last couple of days but I was stuck at work all bank holiday.
The only book I will be starting first thing tomorrow is my new audiobook which will be The Luminaries, which I'd wanted to do in May really as it's over 800 pages. It's a good job I'm going solo for June because I'd be a massive hinderance to any team with a late start and a long book, haha.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

hello friends, I was wondering, can anyone send me a link of a list of all the books that have won the Newsburry Medal?

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

oh btw, along with the Newberry Medal thing, could anyone tell me exactly WHERE do we need to post the review?
