Hi Olivia, I haven't started it yet as I've been away and haven't had much time. Really looking forward to it! How are you enjoying it so far?

It is really interesting reading an adult novel from a favourite childhood author and feeling that familiarity despite the subject being very different. I felt that when I read J.K Rowling's The Casual Vacancy after Harry Potter.
Okay... I am going to start reading it today! :-)

I LOVED JB so much as a teenager so will grab a copy of this and hope I can catch you up. Hope you're all well and having fab summers!
Hey J.C! Great to hear from you. Happy 1st, 2nd... or are we already on 3rd day of summer?! I know the feeling with the amount of half read books... I do exactly the same. I need a 'finish up' month I think!
I have only just started reading this months book too. I must say I am hooked at a quarter of the way in. It is certainly igniting all the nostalgic feelings whilst also being something very new.

Hi ladies, I am sorry for the delay in starting the discussion this month. Normally I have my review and the discussion questions up on 1st of the month but this month I am seriously slacking! This is a shame as out of ALL of the books we have read this is by far the one I want to discuss the most!!
Will get the ball rolling asap, I promise. In the meantime, I really hope you are all enjoying July's read. I've only literally just started it so haven't any comments yet.

I have chosen our June read and it is Judy Blume's In The Unlikely Event! I used to LOVE her books when I was younger. Did anyone else read Are You There God It's Me Margaret? I took that book as gospel as a pre-teen, and read and re-read it so many times! Anyway, as some of you may know I moved to the Florida Keys in January, and guess who lives and owns a book shop in Key West.. Judy Blume! So I thought it was a good time to read her new adult novel!
It follows fifteen year old Miri Ammerman and her family and friends as they cope with three plane crashes from December 1951 to February 1952 in their home of Elizabeth, New Jersey. It is Blume's first book in 17 years! And only 1 of 4 adult books she has written.
Sounds like the perfect summer read!
Grab a copy, and start reading for June, and we will chat about it and review it in July!
Happy reading, and keep a look out for the chat about May's book soon :-)
