So this one tomorrow night and the other right after or wait until after your trip?

I started this morning instead of waiting until tonight.

OOOOH! I can do them both one after the other. Missed my notifications yesterday. :( I'm finishing up a book this morning and then I'll start.

How is it so far?

I'm only 2hrs and 19mins into the audio. Right now it's at the wtf is going on???? place. Is her husband still alive? A ghost? Is she going crazy? What's up with the nanny? All kinds of questions I'm sure we'll get the answers to further into the story.

But I have no doubt I'll enjoy it since I'm a huge Coben fan

Me too! He is one of my favorite authors! I have read all of his books but they probably don't show up on here because some/most may have been BGR (before Goodreads). Lol!

Is it just me or is she not grieving much for her "dead" husband? Like, she shows remorse over her sister. Blaming herself thinking if it wasn't for that video of her overseas then her sister wouldn't be dead. But yet, every time her husband is brought up she never shows much sadness for what happened.

And why not just disconnect the nanny cam? So paranoid that she is being watched.

I got thrown for a loop today with work fire-drill so am just now finishing up the last 30 minutes of my book and THEN I'm REALLY starting this!

I'm not loving my current book so that makes this finishing thing even that much more painful...

I'll try to catch up tonight!

She's debating whether or not to take her small one to the funeral.

That whole thing with the husband in camera, the nanny pepper spraying her & then disappearing... The missing sd card.... All pretty crazy!!

I'll finish this one this morning - I'm 75% through. Maya is investigating the other death at the boarding school and talking to Theo's mom...

OK - I'm with you on the nanny cam. I would definitely take that out, especially now that she doesn't need to spy on her nanny...

I wish she would confide in Shane. He seems like a good guy and she needs someone to keep her centered. She's surrounded by loons - Cory at the top of the list!

Mother-in-law not too far behind.

I wasn't a fan of leaving Lily in the care of Uncle Eddie since he reeked of alcohol and couldn't walk straight through most of the first half of the book.... However, I'm glad to see he is coming around. He's really sweet with Lily - and with their family dropping like flies, it's good they all have each other.

84% into the book and she finally got rid of the nanny-cam!

Wow. That was a bit of a crazy ride!!!!! All sorts of mixed emotions rolling around in here.... Huh.

Talk about a dysfunctional family. (view spoiler)[ It was like a family of psychopaths!!! And the mom is a therapist??? Really?!!!!!

So, through out the WHOLE story, Maya knew she killed her husband but she was really just wanting to know why Joe had killed her sister? Right?

She really should have brought Shane in sooner. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

She gave up her life to expose that whacked out family and avenge her sister. It was heroic, yet I feel terribly sad for Lily... I know the ending was to let us know she grew up loved, etc., but still, she lost her mom. :(

Shane would have had her wear a bullet proof vest. Course, I guess she came clean on murdering her husband in cold blood and would have likely spent the rest of her life in jail... sigh... mixed emotions...

On another note -- The part about her silencing Shane's radio and saying they had confirmation to take out the vehicle when they really didn't was interesting. At that point in time, I could kind of understand how freaked out she was - listening to the distress calls of her comrades - but found it disturbing that she said she would have done it again had she had it all over to re-do. Her lack of guilt... That was pretty cold.

I need to go back and read your spoilers now. I accidentally read up to the part about Joe & his brother, but didn't read past that yet.

HaHa! I guess there was just one more left! You had the same WTF moment I had!

I completely agree with the Shane thing. 100%. She should have confided in him from the jump. I think things would have gone drastically different if he were involved. (view spoiler)[I don't think she had to die to prove her point. There had to have been a better way. (hide spoiler)]
