What is it with their dad being so overprotective?!? He's some sort of businessman , but why does he NEED to isolate his daughters and seclude them for their safety!?
He came from poverty , so it's not like his daughter's are blue-bloods to be kidnapped...

I see... was there a reason why they had to kidnap her to do this!?

I love when the audiobook uses different narrators for each POV. It makes things much more enjoyable.

He tells her - "You need to grow the fuck up and stop behaving like a child!"
>> really ?! she's behaving like a child because she doesn't want to be kidnapped and randomly told that "it's for her own good"... What 22-year-old who has half a brain would just go along with this without putting up a fight and raising questions?!
But then, all he needs to do it lecture her and tell her it's for her own good for her to think "I made a promise to myself to never run away from Nox" > really?? Now you trust him just because he told you to?!

I will keep commenting until I get to 60% :D

Lilly: "you broke her!"
Wow... took you 4 days to fuckin' break?!

And then... she thinks to herself...
"when is the last time he got some sleep?"
> who gives a f'ing shit when you CAPTOR got any sleep??

She just mentioned she hasn't seen him in almost a week - holy crap, time flies in this book, without much happening...

Hahah I'm a lightweight- I can't do faster than 2, hahhaa i zone out and lose it :)

Krissy (krissystewart) | 1283 comments Stopping at 60% for a bit. I'll finish up later this afternoon. Just found out who might be behind the death threats. [and it's a character who was mentioned like once or twice in passing. I literally had to do a search of his name in the ebook because I had no fucking clue. Were we supposed to be shocked and appalled? Well then i failed because my only reaction was "who?" (hide spoiler)]"
Yes!! Who the fuck is Jamie?!?!? Why is this such a huge shock - I don't remember him even being mentioned!!
And then he tells her how she was kidnapped when she was 13 by someone whose kid was sick and dying... Realistically she blames her dad for not paying for the kid's surgery, but the dude did give 20,000 so i mean....
- my kid's not here, so my husband and i went out last night and i stopped reading @70% ..... Continuing now!!

Couldn't have been by tracing her phone since it all happened only 2 minutes after the call!
Then - as the house is being bombed why are they all running to the van except for Nox, who stays behind- why?!? Why would he stay?!?
"My dad kept me so close to him that mom got tucked away in the corner" - what kind of weird family dynamics do these people have!?! She kept saying at the safe house how she never had family meals,etc.. Her dad kept her and her sister locked up at home - what else did they have to do other than spend family time together - yet apparently they never did!!
The nurses at the hospital are very quick to tranquillize her! Hahahahha im not sure that's suck a common practice....
Suuuuch a bitch to her parents - especially her dad!! She kicks them out of the hospital and blames them for everything YET THEN SHE TAKES HIS MONEY!! Says things like "he can't forbid me" and "i needed to take that money and start my own life" - ummmm YOUR DAD'S MONEY!! So no problems taking his money but doesn't want to talk to him!! Biiitch!!
Overall hated her in the end!!
Rock cries saying goodbye to her... Waving, kissing fingers, tapping his heart.... Why is everyone soooo melodramatic?!? Why do they have to say goodbye anyways?! Can't they stay friends if they love each other so much?!?!?
He's all broken , scarred, and has a prosthetic leg... Ok drama , drama, drama! It really wasn't written like a serious book- don't bring serious shit into it now!!!
Omg - comment Krissy, comment! :)

I also didn't get why they couldn't all be friends after the fact.

Like the relationship with dad...
Like the relationship with mom...
Like tackling the serious topic of sickness/someone loosing a limb...
Like the "heart-breaking" separation from her friends ....
All of these things were completely unnecessary in this book, or at least should have been handled better and EXPLAINED BETTER!!
I still don't realize what exactly she blamed her dad for?! The kidnapping? The not telling her she was in danger? Tge "death" of her boyfriend? Because , honestly, i wasn't sure why it was the poor guy's fault that u f*cked ur bodyguard and then he died protecting you....
If you ask me - she shouldn't have been a pushover at the beginning of the book and allowed her dad to stop her from having friends and going to college!! THIS is when she should have spoken up and demanded explanations!! Noo, at this point she blindly followed the rules like a brainless idiot , but noooowwww she won't speak to him after they all went through a traumatic experience.,..
ALSO - the whole "killer Jamie/Jed" thing was poorly construed

These are things that prevent me from giving a book more than 2*! I shouldn't have to guess at what the motives were and what the author meant to say...
