Kazen Tori wrote: "So if i read the rules right. Monday we pick more hits? So I should try to read two books this weekend?"

We do pick more squares on Monday, but how many books we've read doesn't affect our choices. We will still get our hits and misses, we just can't receive points until those books are read.

Of course if you feel moved to read two or twenty books this weekend I wouldn't stop you. ;)

I hope that makes sense, let me know if it doesn't ^^;;

eta: From the rules - "New round of guesses can be made even if previous ones are still being read for. Time frame for finishing tasks is end of battleship."

Brianna Andreda | 422 comments I almost forgot. Here's my wobble shelf. It's just simply called wobble

Victoria Grace (torrritm) | 67 comments Tammie: I like mystery but it's not really my thing. I did stumble upon this series the other day The Surgeon (Rizzoli & Isles, #1) by Tess Gerritsen and i thought it looked pretty good.

Thanks Kazen. I think I got it!

Also, what kind of tea do you drink???

message 258: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Brianna - thank you for your shelf! I'm locked out from entering it myself so I'll get a guru on it as soon as I can :)

Tammie - I drink mostly green tea in the morning and jasmine tea or black tea in the afternoon. My latest favorite is Hot Cinnamon Spice from Harney and Sons - it's the perfect thing for a cold day! The summer heat has already arrived here but I still find excuses to drink it. ;) What kind of tea are you into?

I almost always have either green or earl grey in the am...depends on my mood. In the eve I like a nice mint or herbal tea. I'm not too particular on brand but I buy mostly Bigelow...the tea is produced in the US and the company does quite a bit for our environment...tea is good and reasonably priced too.

In the summertime I consume iced tea almost exclusively...interesting question!

message 260: by Tammie (new)

Tammie | 4553 comments Can someone please clarify for me...do 2 of us need to read the same book or can they be different?

I'm working on the Eve Duncan series by Iris Johansen...I'd like to continue...my next one would be 'The Search'. I could keep reading others to drive up the points if that's best.

message 261: by Kazen (last edited Jun 16, 2016 08:10PM) (new)

Kazen Tammie - the books can be different. It's only that the same person can't do the same task twice. :)

eta: So it sounds to me like you want to blast through a series? That's totally fine, as long as the books go towards different tasks/squares. If it doesn't fit anywhere else don't fret - we have three more batches of guesses coming, yea!

message 262: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (melissa98) Sorry I just realised I haven't picked a number. I've had three exams this week so I've been a bit out of the loop! Can I just pick any random square?

message 263: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Melissa wrote: "Sorry I just realised I haven't picked a number. I've had three exams this week so I've been a bit out of the loop! Can I just pick any random square?"

The squares have already been picked, so no worries! We got five hits too, which is pretty awesome. :) Have a look at the tasks here and feel free to claim one that works for you. Hits are more points so I was thinking we could start with those. :)

Three exams, ouch! How did they go? I hope you're free for the summer soon :)

message 264: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Melissa - do you have a shelf for wobble yet? Tell me the shelf name you chose so I can add it to the spreadsheet. ^^b

(...that's a thumbs up... looks so weird in this font...)

message 265: by Lory (new)

Lory | 629 comments Hi All,

I'm really excited already! If possible, I'd like to do a science fiction book. I have a lot on my shelves so it should be easy to find. I was also planning on reading The Secret Garden in the next few weeks for another book club. If we need that for a place in the UK. It's not a ton of pages, so let me know. But I'm a go on Sci Fi!!

message 266: by Lory (new)

Lory | 629 comments also, on the hits does page number matter as long as it is greater than 100 pages?

message 267: by Tammie (new)

Tammie | 4553 comments Kazen...I changed my mind...going to start with For You, Kristen Ashley
For You (The 'Burg, #1) by Kristen Ashley ...my overdrive library has this available...The Search has a wait list...ill remember to check that 1st in future.
It has 583 pages...I didn't realize it was classified as mystery...yea!
Is there anything else I need to do...just add to my wobble shelf when done? Do we write a review or anything...I don't remember seeing that mentioned in rules.

Pragya, go ahead and read the Main Rules of Wobble - I think you'll find most of your answers there. :)

Kazen

I'm hiding the misses under a spoiler so we can concentrate on HITS! to start. If none of the hit tasks interest you you're more than welcome to read for a miss - it may even count for a future hit! :D

A4 - HIT! - Read a book shelved as science fiction by at least 10 people
Book 1: Lory
Book 2: Annabeth

B1 - HIT! - Read a book shelved as romance by at least 10 people
Book 1: Tori
Book 2: Pragya

E5 - HIT! - Read a book shelved as mystery by at least 10 people
Book 1: Tammie
Book 2: Brianna

H5 - HIT! - Read a book shelved as horror by at least 10 people
Book 1:
Book 2:

I9 - HIT! - Read a book shelved as paranormal by at least 10 people
Book 1: Ella
Book 2:

(view spoiler)

Remember, don't start just yet ! Just a few more hours to go. :)

message 274: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Pragya wrote: "One more thing- for the top 100 Australian names, is there a particular list/link we have to go by?"

Yup, the last part of the task should show up as a link. One book at a time, though! ;)

Thank you☺, I'm on my phone right now so I couldn't find the thread.

No worries! I have a feeling I'll have the same problem when I start trying to Wobble on my way home from work. Train + tunnels + small phone screen = nothing good! ;)

message 275: by prag ♻ (new)

prag ♻ (janayanation) Yep, I'm just gonna check and see if any books I plan on reading fit in that category because it looks like a hard one.

message 276: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Psst... we have thirty guesses remaining... that's a lot of potential hits. There's no rule saying we have to do every task so I wouldn't worry about it too much. ;)

message 277: by Kazen (last edited Jun 16, 2016 09:49PM) (new)

Kazen Annabeth wrote: "Ooh it's a hit! Do i have to read two horror books?"

Congrats on your hit! :D

Nope, you can read any book that you want that fits anywhere, through hits are best :) Each person can only read one book for each task. Would you like me to put you down for horror?

message 278: by Sam Lien (new)

Sam Lien (sam_nguyen) | 124 comments Kazen, I can read B1 - HIT! - Read a book shelved as romance by at least 10 people. Have a book which fits the task that I want to re-read anyway :)

Kazen Sam wrote: "Kazen, I can read B1 - HIT! - Read a book shelved as romance by at least 10 people. Have a book which fits the task that I want to re-read anyway :)"

Romance is full already, but fear not! Check to see if it fits for something else (science fiction? paranormal?). If not that's okay - we can use it as a bonus book towards romance or towards a future hit no problem. :)

Sam, could you make a shelf for this wobble and let me know what you name it? That way we can get it in the spreadsheet before the challenge starts. Thanks!

Ella | 367 comments Wow people are FAST! hehe I choose Dark Prince (Carpathians, #1) by Christine Feehan - paranormal and 501pgs.
I also finished my last book for the prechallenge- Swan and the Bear (Furry United Coalition, #2) by Eve Langlais -16th June. It gets points for-
-bear in title-20pts
-characters- Mason(bear), Miranda(bunny), Chase(bear), Kloe(giraffe), Cecile (boar)-50pts
mentions- hyena, gorillas, panda, mouse, cats, wolves-25pts
total-95
Now I'm off to give my last exam and I'll start my book tonight!

message 282: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Ella, the 501 page count is wonderful - more page points for us, bwahaha. ;)

I'll put your mini-challenge book in that spreadsheet now - 95 points, woah! :D

message 283: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Annabeth wrote: "How can we get bonus points?"

First two people read a book each for a hit task, completing it. Then different people can also read that task for +1 bonus point as well as any page points earned. The important thing is that each person can only put one book in for each square/task. Miss tasks are capped at two books and only get page points.

I just realized that I forgot to answer this question - so sorry! I've added some instructions in the first few posts about what to do when done. It boils down to - mark book as read, make sure it's on your wobble shelf, and post in the (to be determined) place. No review required. :)

Kazen Ella wrote: "ok.. I have a prob. this book is 501pgs on GR but 497 on Amazon. Wat do v take into account?

The edition that counts is the edition you read (unless it's an audiobook, long story). So if you're reading a hardcover, shelve the hardcover. If you're reading on your kindle, shelve the kindle edition. That's the page count that will... count.

I would get as close as you can edition-wise - Amazon changes its page counting method now and then so who knows what happened. But the count here at Goodreads is the one that will count.

We're already showing at 25 points but it's a spreadsheet thing - we don't actually earn them until we read two books for each hit. Still puts us in a tie for third, though! :D
