No, I'm near Wasaga Beach. The company I work for makes mining equipment and ships all over the world. I'm at the central hub so to speak. My department creates all the manuals for operating the machines, so I do a lot of proofing and editing.

I think I've seen you around as well in the NRPG, are you enjoying it, I know I am.

First task assigned to you by your captain:
I put links to everyone's Wobble shelf in one of my reserve posts. Make sure I linked to the shelf you are planning to use for Wobble. Most of you had the word 'wobble' in the title so it made it easy to figure out.
Shanna, I think for you I grabbed something called 'for-challenge'. It was a sticky shelf and currently empty so I figured that was your wobble shelf.
But for anyone, if I linked to the wrong shelf please let me no and provide the link to the shelf you want to use for the challenge.
Thank you :)

It's the right shelf for me as well.

Yes, that is my shelf to be squirrely in.

This is why a challenge like this is fantastic! Gives me a little escape time from this crazy thing they call life ;)

I'm just starting the second book. I love his writing style but it takes me forever to get through chunkers like that. Worth every page though.

The big move is scheduled for Monday, so will probably be offline part of Monday and Tuesday while all the lines get connected and the electronics set up. By Tuesday evening I hope to be back up and with a faster connection, so they say.
I am planning on getting the rest of the house organized while this is being done, so we can spend Wed doing a final cleaning at the old house for the new buyers walk through on Thursday. Closing is Friday but we've already done our paperwork so the lawyers will handle the transfer. And I can be online ready to start Wobbling!! That's the plan!
Thanks for checking everyone!
Good luck with the move Linda, it's not something I overly enjoy.
I kinda of have a love-hate with it although the worst part for me was always settling on picking/finding the new place as opposed to the moving itself.
And with buying/selling houses all that paperwork. I felt like I was signing my life away. Glad you have that all taken care of :)

Okay! I don't see that as being a problem. We can work that into our team plans for the various games.
I think as long as everyone can either complete what they committed to for given task or let us know when there is an issue so the team can adjust, it'll all be fine.

Yes that is my wobble shelf
At 23 it looks like I'm one of the youngest members of this group, I graduated from university recently and I am trying to catch up on reading. I read next to nothing during my 4 years in uni but did not cut back on the amount of books I bought, I had 56 unread books on my shelf when I graduated! This was obviously unacceptable so I signed up for the 2016 challenge and now I'm doing this one.
you all seem really nice, I look forward to doing this challenge with you all!

What was your degree?
I have over 400 books on my Kindle, waiting for their turn... But I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to books
Welcome to the group!! I wouldn't call you late, just maybe that the rest of us need to work on improving our patience :)
Make sure you check out the All Air teams chat. We'll be doing a pre-wobble mini challenge for fun. It'll probably be up in the next day or so, I think the captains may have settled on the tasks.
And now we are all checked in, so thank you everyone for not making me or the co-captains hunt you down. Lol

I'm hoping that I'll have something on hand for everything in this challenge and will be able to ween my pile.

Good to know I'm not the only one who tends to collect books...I have a hard time resisting the library sales. I'm hoping to find a lot for this challenge in my existing pile too.

Yep, my piles of books are huge. I don't count ebooks because they don't take up more physical space. At least that's the line of bull I tell my husband.
Luckily he loves me and is rather indulgent of my book habit

Also check out the All Air team chatter the mini challenge and related things are posted. Feel free to participate as you desire.

We are heading into the final countdown towards the launch of Wobble.
Remember books can only count if you start them after Wobble kick off.
Any book started after June 17th will count for whichever Wobble game you finish it in. Example: you start a book during Battleship but don't finish it until we are in the middle of Wheel-a-thon. It can be used for Wheel.
In a couple days we should have rules and spreadsheets for Battleship and then we can start our first plan of attack :)
Happy Reading!

Have family visiting from out of town so I will check back in late tomorrow night!

Where? Where? I can't find it /o\ *lost

My computer broke this week, but it's easy for me to check here with the team on my work (:
If anything goes wrong, I still have my phone (Can I PM the captain and co-captain if is dificult to post here?)
Next month I'll have a new computer and life will be easy again (:
thanks Tati for posting the link. I just read them and this is going to be awesome!

The group will made 10 guesses. How we do this? we have 13 members, so how do we made those 10 guesses? almost-everyone will make one? The group as one will chat and decide the best strategy to make the guesses? or the captain and co-captains will make the decisions?
And if we make those decisions as a group, we talk on this topic? or we'll have another goodreads group/off-goodreads chat (like line or something like this)?
And let me see if i got this right:
We'll have to make 10 guesses, so we'll have 10 tasks? and if we have to read 2 books per task, that means that 13 people will have to read 20 books? (at least 1 per team member)
I think that's all my doubts.
i'm reeeeally exited for this chalenge to begin :D I'm one a reading slump for +- 15 days and wobble will cure all my problems ;D
I was thinking a strategy of some sort and least for the first round of guesses. From there I think we'll base it off of any hits we received.
Angela suggested something on diagonals to cover a lot of ground.
We are open to suggestions and would like a general consensus from the team before I enter our guesses tomorrow.
Rachel, I'll address some of your other concerns in another post when I have a bit more time. But I wanted the team to start thinking and tossing out ideas if they decide to

I agree with Tati, we should make sure none of our guesses touch so we cover more space for our first round of guesses, then when we see how many hits/misses we get we can do so accordingly.

Rachel, let me know if I missed a question/concern.
Since each team is playing on their own card and each card is unique to each team, we can just chat in this thread instead of setting up a separate chat. So there isn't much to be gained copying another team because the hits, misses, and tasks will be different.
Yes, we'll start off with 10 tasks, meaning 20 books. Until we make our next round of guesses and add to the list of tasks. We may not finish everything by the end of battleship and that's okay. But some people read a crazy amount of books so you might be surprised how much we can get through. Everyone on the team needs to finish AT LEAST ONE BOOK. As long as that happens, we are golden.

Yeah, That's been really helpful and everyone is so nice. I've just been using everyone one's threads to make sure I 'm doing things right. Plus all the other players are really helpful when I have questions.
