Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion

Iiii have so many series i'm in the middle of so I can definitely work on series reads

I am reading first in series, then can read the second one.

I've got so much work to do in the next couple of days that I'm not going to have time or energy to find the right book to fit quests, so I'll just listen to whatever's next on my wishlist, then post when I'm done and hopefully they'll fit somewhere.

Beth is reading for H, but by author's last name that can count for the T. Possibly the second story window counts as something high, lets see what Judith and Cathy think.

My spell it out book actually worked for rare story (238 ratings), so I moved it.

Now reading For the Sake of Love with has 23 ratings for the last book in that quest.

I would say no. I think it should be something a little clearer like -



Or something flying high in the sky like a plane or bird. But like Angela said, it also works for the T in HEART.

Logged my finished books and starting an E book. If HEART book is still open tomorrow, I have a short one I can read. Otherwise I'll keep reading these stupid cozy mysteries!

You can use head full of ghosts for T, I will start for something high, it has airplanes flying in the sky above the city.

I moved Angela's book to the HEART spot. I noticed when she put it all the BOOKS READ thread the title came up like this: Chronicle of a Last Summer: A Novel of Egypt meaning we can use all of those letters.

And I was already reading one that I should be done with today that will work for the rating spot where she had it.

So we should have Quest 1 done soon which will be nice since it's 7exp points. Quest 5 likely too which will be another 6exp and a level up.

Hopefully we'll get some monster cards to get exp and maybe some potion drops.

I found books that will work for the prefix spots.

What would be a healing word?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was scratching their head with that one.

Linda lucked into Medicine I think. I posted a question about it on the captain's board to see if there was a list somewhere I missed (either for Wobble or the individual RPG Emerge is based on).

But some of these I really don't think of as 'healing words'. Goals? Seriously? My feeling crappy will not be made better by talking me be about goals. That would make me feel worse, like I should be out achieving those goals instead of slacking off being sick.

In the mean time, some words that may be easy to find and work, I'm thinking things like

-Love
-Hope
-Bless
-Forgive/Forgiven/Forgiveness

In the RPG, the healing words that they're usually talking about are cure, heal, doctor, medicine and words like that.

Books I used in my quest on the RPG were:
Cured
Regeneration
Healing Luke

But they did say any word we associate with healing would work.

FYI - our sheet went wonky again. Kelly think the script is fixed, but they have to fix the current sheets manually. Then after that they should be fine.

She is aware of it and we are on the list to get fixed. And it'll likely be fixed before we have a question completed so it shouldn't be a big deal.

But in case someone was looking in the official spreadsheet, I didn't want them concerned.

It looks like they have it all fixed. Hopefully we'll be good for the rest of the games and poor Kelly can have a nap. And maybe a bunch of booze :)

I thought it meant Heart in title so good you read that correctly :)

Finished E book and should be done with my other suffix book shortly. Will see what I have for healing word.

Umm, did I interpret that wrong? I re-read the actual task on the official spreadsheet and think I might of read it wrong. I did rush through those with all of the issues we had yesterday. . .you might want to re-read that.

If I interpreted it wrong, I typed the task wrong on our tracking sheet. So you should look at the main spreadsheet to check.

I think I messed up with it being connected to the spell-it-out tasks.

Okay official sheet says "Read a book with HEART in the title." I think it does mean the word "heart" in title. I looked up the original quest from RPG and it was the actual shape word in title.

This is why they give us 2 co-captains. B/c clearly captains need keepers!

That actually should be written a little differently because it could mean either really! That quest was expired when I started so I didn't remember it, otherwise would've said it earlier. At least we hadn't inputted it into the official sheet yet!

You need to find actual word (shape) in title for that quest.

If love counts as a healing word, the book I just finished could be moved there, and The Chronicle of Last Summer could be moved to the rare story spot.

Don't think Love would work - not listed as a synonym for any of the words.

Finished Kissing Steel so the Suffix words are done. Am starting Healing His Heart which can work for Heart in title or Healing word.

We're close to finishing a quest so hoping we get a monster battle next to bring our HP down since we will be leveling up soon!! We need to take advantage when we can!

I think they had those as examples but any word that we considered a healing word would work. I can't check back in the Q&A thread right now though because I'm heading out to dinner. But either Tea or Kelly said it in one of the posts right around where the links to Kelly's lists were.

I would considered love a healing word, but if people disagree with that my feelings won't be hurt.

Beth, I would say yes, but lets see if Judith or Cathy can give their thoughts so we have a majority decision.

A moon? I would think so.

I know I tend to make things harder than it is by thinking too literally so I will defer to Judith for her opinion!

CARD 1

The Queen is going on a first date with a very nice Prince of the neighboring kingdom of Novella. She wants some idea's of nice things to do on her date.

You really prefer standing on firm ground. "Oh, and do you know what would be even better?!" Zee looks at you, eyes shining with excitement. "Just when you reach that perfect speed and perfect height, you stop. No flapping your wings or anything. Just let gravity do it's business. Oh it would be such great rush!" You smile at Sir Zee patronizingly and hoping she doesn't notice you turned little green at her great idea.

Well that sucked. Hoped we'd get at least 1 battle.

Seeing as no one is around, and the flying quest is taking a little longer to find books to work, I think we should discard the 2nd card (the one that just posted a couple minutes ago). We will be dealt a new card in a couple hours so I hope that's okay with everyone!

I have so many books for those categories, but I already have two I gotta read for them, the last one.

I actually have several nooks that will work for that one.

CARD 4

The innkeeper asks you to pick some berries to help with her famous triple berry pie. You gladly agree in hopes of reaping some berry good rewards.
Use spell-it-out rules to spell the word RASP.

I found the words Rose & Date in banked books and I found marriage in another book so the word in text we still need to find is:

I'm currently reading Chasers by James Phelan, so that will work for P

Chasers is also book 1 in a series, so if someone ends up reading a singleton that works for P it could be moved.

The Good Goodbye is going to be my next audiobook and it will work for either R (MC Rory) or A (MC Arden).

So depending on what others have, I can take the other spot.

I can read The Apartment this afternoon for A. Not sure yet what the characters names are so it might be more flexible.
