Angela | 504 comments Yup, Let Me Explain You works! And it looks good, let me know how you like it.

I read a book with a character whose name started with R, but it was also a series book, so we're using it for weapon building for now.

Angela | 504 comments I roll a dice and came up with 1. I'm going to read Still Life by Louise Penny. That and The Light Between Oceans for the GRs nominee will be my reads for the weekend.

CARD 5

You are trekking through the kingdom and come to a fork in the road. A three pronged fork to be exact. Being the intrepid adventuter that you are you take the only logical course and pull a die out of your pocket.
You roll a 3.
You continue your trek and come across a stranger who needs your help.
A wizard named Cruamros is a bit of a clumsy wizard and has cast a spell on his pet cat. The cat has turned into a toad. To help the wizard restore his cat to its former self, you need to provide Cruamros with one of the following items which will help him cast his reversing spell on his cat.
You need to read a book that has one of the items above on the cover, as part of the title or is mentioned in the book (provide page number and sentence the word is used in).

words in the text. Cathy had a short list of books that had over 100 mentions in them so it's possible to knock this task out with one book.

I'll see if I can find her list or maybe she'll pop on at some point and share it if I can't find it.

CARD 3
You pass group of young squires sitting and talking. You can't not notice they are retelling Lady Shanna's Blueberry Adventure. You smile to yourself. It is great story, but like in many stories some things got changed with each retelling. And not to mention not many people know what happened after. Lady Shanna went to the field again day after and she picked some blueberries for herself, but nobody told her that those berries shouldn't be eaten fresh. She started eating them while picking. "Spit them out!" said the white horse. "But they are so tasty." "Spit them out!" All of the sudden, Lady Shanna's nose started turning purple. "What is happening to me?" yells Lady Shanna while continuing turning purple and starting to grow round. "I told you to spit them out. Everyone who eats them fresh ends up as blueberry and nobody knows why."

In case anyone is confused on this one, we just need to find the each word in the text of a book.

Just wanted to clarify it was text and not cover items or something.

message 3235: by Foxy Grandma (new)

Foxy Grandma (foxygrandma) | 450 comments So are we better off doing Quest books or weapons books. Just trying to decide if I need to look for text or keep reading series

Beth,

I'd say a little of both. Which I realize is completely not helpful. I'd say look for a few words in books to mix in with the series books you are reading.

It's what I'm planning on doing. This one is for a lot of gold, which if unspent will get transferred directly into points. So if we complete it and end up not spending the gold, this card is worth 40 points, which is more points than a new weapon level.

Hope that helps :/

Linda C (libladynylindac) | 913 comments I am reading Agatha Raisin and the Murderous Marriage - M. C. Beaton

It is #5 in the Agatha Raisin series and has phrase "a green silk blouse" on page 3 and "It was a huge gold and green china elephant ..." on page 7 and "wearing a short sleeved cotton print dress" on page 61

Can use wherever needed. May come up with others before book is finished.

Words that we are still looking for:

Dye - this will likely be the hardest word to find
Candle
Paper
Bowl

FYI - Linda for right now your book is being used for weapons because we always seem to need a #5, but we can move it back if need be.

•Isotropic - having a physical property that has the same value when measured in different directions
