Rating: 2.5 stars rounded up (I had an issue with one element of the story- that the characters were supposedly scientists, but really were just finding and killing butterflies and animals for rich people's collections- otherwise I quite liked it and would have rated it at least a full star higher)
Might work for: Genre is Mystery
Cactus- the love interest is quite prickly, especially at the beginning
Wood heart- not quite sure what we're supposed to do with this one, might be pushing this too far, but the main character discovers (view spoiler)
Snarling Sabertooths- the MCs are "scientists" who find and kill butterflies and animals for wealthy collectors, definitely hurrying some species towards extinction
