THE LAST HURRAH
question
The right to die on your own terms

It's a difficult topic to discuss, and everyone has their own very personal opinions which should be respected, but the right to die on your own terms is one of those taboo subjects that is currently being debated. 'The Last Hurrah' features an elderly couple who are both terminally ill. They have busy adult children who are rather disconnected from them, so they decide that, rather than being placed into a care facility, they will have one last holiday together while they are able and not return from their cruise. I wrote the novella primarily to reach people who take their elderly parents for granted and don't know what a treasure they have until they are gone. Have you phoned your ageing parent recently?
