Catalina Perez, the woman killed along with Howard Elias, was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Was she a red herring for you at any time during the story?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments No, she was not a red herring for me. I just felt so badly that justice for her was not done, since she was sidelined. What a sad part of the story for me....

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments Near the beginning of the investigation, I was wondering if her death would play a larger part of the mystery. Turns out she was just an unlucky victim.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments No. I always knew she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I wondered for about half the book but then came to that wrong place/wrong time conclusion.

Jim O'Donnell | 48 comments Never a red herring, but I expected there to come a detail from investigating her death that would prove pivotal in the whole case. I figured Harry would find something otherwise overlooked, by his refusing to cut corners on her side of the investigation. (Didn't happen that way)
