D.J. Oss | 18 comments Hi, All!

I'm a sweet romantic comedy author and have a question about whether offering review copies to group members is allowed. I have a new book out (and another on the way) and appreciate that there are still readers out there who don't necessarily need to see abs on their covers. ;)

Thanks!

Groovy Lee You can always post on the "Looking For" thread and ask for reviews.

And in closing, I would just like to say that although I don't have them on all of my novels, I'm very proud of the abs on 3 of them. I put them there to make a point. And still, no one gets it:)

Welcome, D.J. I like your cover:)

I'll check out the "Looking For" thread. And start working on my abs. :)

Thanks, Emily! I do the covers myself. I was trying for the "chick lit meets romantic comedy" feel. It's fun, but takes time. :)

Groovy Lee D.J., do you have software to do your own covers? I would LOVE to be able to create my own.

I mostly use Photoshop. For this cover, which uses a lot of vectors, I also used Illustrator. I find that it's the details that bring it all together, such as shadowing, textures, etc. and choosing an appropriate, readable font.

Groovy Lee Thanks, D.J.

Looking at how you did your cover your way without having to explain it to someone else, inspired me. I'm going to do the research and eventually do my own.

All the best with your book. It looks like it's going to do good:)
