Now that our read for July 2016 has been decided, it's time for everyone to nominate a book for our August read.

Nominate a crime/mystery/thriller/suspense book which is set in Australia. True crime or cosy mysteries are included in this :)

This thread will be open until 5th July, then our nominations will go to the vote:) Good luck and have fun!

Authors and publishers, please don't nominate your own work!

Sally906 I nominate Murder in Murloo (Dusty Kent Mysteries #1) by Brigid George Murder in Murloo by Brigid George

Blurb: When a popular young woman is strangled in her home in the seaside village of Murloo, the residents are sure an itinerant surfer who disappeared after the murder is the killer. However, one year later the surfer is still missing and the killer’s identity remains a mystery.

The victim’s family call in investigative journalist Dusty Kent who has an impeccable record in solving the cold cases she writes about.

Carolyn | 2081 comments I'd like to nominate The Dry by Jane Harper.

The blurb:
Luke Hadler turns a gun on his wife and child, then himself. The farming community of Kiewarra is facing life and death choices daily. If one of their own broke under the strain, well...

When Federal Police investigator Aaron Falk returns to Kiewarra for the funerals, he is loath to confront the people who rejected him twenty years earlier. But when his investigative skills are called on, the facts of the Hadler case start to make him doubt this murder-suicide charge. And as Falk probes deeper into the killings, old wounds start bleeding into fresh ones. For Falk and his childhood friend Luke shared a secret... A secret Falk thought long-buried... A secret which Luke's death starts to bring to the surface...

Moraig | 7 comments https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... Invisible Women - true crime about the murders f sex workers. I've read it but wouldn't mind reading it again. It gives these poor women human faces. Also, I just read The Dry, one of the best crime novels I've read in ages.
