A man tainted as we are by our ill society(ies) finds his way with ill intent onto an island where society means something else, and something beautiful, entirely. Aldous Huxley makes the building blocks of what we believe quiver in insecurity as he fearless challenges things we did not know we were allowed to question. Fucking read it and learn, and tell me every thing.
This is Wikipedias first words on it: "Island is the final book by English writer Aldous Huxley, published in 1962. It is the account of Will Farnaby, a cynical journalist who is shipwrecked on the fictional island of Pala. Island is Huxley's utopian counterpart to his most famous work, the 1932 dystopian novel Brave New World, itself often paired with George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. The ideas that would become Island can be seen in a foreword he wrote in 1946 to a new edition of Brave New World"
And Amazon has a measly: "The final novel from Aldous Huxley, Island is a provocative counterpoint to his worldwide classic Brave New World, in which a flourishing, ideal society located on a remote Pacific island attracts the envy of the outside world."
