Here's an interesting website: http://www.amis-flaubert-maupassant.fr (in French).
Flaubert and Maupassant were friends, the latter being 30 years younger than the former. They share the same beauty of literary style.

If you want to know everything there is to know about Flaubert, then go to the Centre Flaubert :-) http://flaubert.univ-rouen.fr,

Thanks, Rachel for giving a go at the quiz:-)
It is a portrait of a woman that often served a book cover of various editions of Madame Bovary throughout the years, but it is not Emma (that's the reason why I asked the question).
Actually it is the portrait of Delphine Delamare . This is the person who inspired Flaubert his character of Emma.

Thanks, Rachel. Yes, it's very delicate. I love the background and the details.

PLEASE, KEEP IN MIND: do not give any spoilers! The discussion about particular segments of the story was divided, so the members of the group can make comments as they move further on the reading, without the risk of encountering spoilers in the middle of the conversations.
