Addicted to YA discussion

Hey everyone! I personally LOVE Annabeth because of her resourcefulness, bravery, determination and overall awesomeness, but what are your opinions? Feel free to express how you feel about the character, but please be respectful towards other opinions :)

I enjoyed Annabeth and her cleverness, but and Percy drove me nuts! I think it would be interesting to see if down the road, Roirdan has a Rowlings moment and goes "Yeah, those two really wouldn't have worked out long term. My bad." I kind of hope he doesn't because I am a bit of a control freak and major planner like Annabeth, and my husband is laid back and fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants lucky like Percy. We've made it almost 13 years, so I've got hopes for them!
As much as I relate to Annabeth's personality, Piper is my favorite of all the ladies in Rick Roirdan's books. I may act like Annabeth, but I have always felt like Piper, awkward and uncomfortable in my own skin because everyone expected me to be like my super-cool cheerleader sister.

Haha, your reply made me laugh! That's a good point, I also wonder if Riordan will have a "J.K. Rowling moment"! I also love Piper and I think Reyna was an interesting character too. I also think that Percy and Annabeth should stay together because, you know what they say, opposites attract! :)

Oh, my son was absolutely ga-ga over Reyna! He likes a take-charge kinda gal, I guess ;)

There are days where opposites attract makes you wanna kill the other person, but just like Yin and Yang, you balance each other out and create awesome things together when you are in harmony.

I think Roirdan does such a great job of showing both sides of the dynamics of that type of relationship, which makes me wonder if that relationship is based on one he has observed in real life!

In which case, I am sure they will make it!

I love Annabeth, she's strong, determined, resourceful, wise, smart, and funny. When she calls Percy "seaweed brain", she cracks me up.
