Challenge Help
Helen, I've just looked and it's still with the 'tribute to..' folder, but I think on the second page

Thanks!

Tineye might help here, if you get the link of cover image and paste on here it will come up with percent on all the colours listed. I checked those you posted and none of them mentioned Indigo, although I'd say the first one fit as is various shades. Hope it helps xx

It's an R.
A, An and The are excluded.

You can always refer to Standard Challenge Rules - PLEASE READ. The spell out rules are in there.
Some of the older challenges were not written as I would write them and do not include a link to the standard rules. :)

DO you mean add the titles to a message box? If so, on the right side of the message box it says add book/author . Click on that and add your title where it says book. Then hit add and it is in your message. There is also an option to add a cover at the bottom.

Right now, I'm thinking of going with the Small Scoop level (the lowest one) to see how I like this challenge. I don't know if I want to saddle myself with something larger like Medium or Large when I don't know if I'd enjoy the challenge yet, but at the same time I wouldn't want to rule doing them out completely at some point in the future.

In this group you are allowed to go up or down in levels. You can play challenges many times if you wish as long as the challenge is still active. :)

Just wanted to clarify - the book I'm currently reading ticks off both one task from "Clean it out" (from a pile at home) and one task from "Don't get fined" (has a house on cover). Can I use it for both?

Each challenge is separate so you can use the same book for multiple challenges - you just usually can't use it for more than 1 prompt within each individual challenge (Scavenger hunts being an exception)

Thanks - thought that was the case!

You had just posted about having trouble with Goodreads so I figured I'd help out.

I signed up for the SF: A Musical City Challenge. Now I can't find it.
How do I find it?
Thanks!
Helen

The mods usually put links to the various posts in the second post of a thread. So just look for your name and click on it and it will take you to your post.

What constitutes a New Release? I'm working on These Are the Days and I just finished a book published in September of this year. Is that too old to be considered a new release?

I would say anything released within six months. I'd use the book you read! :)

I put a hold on a new one of David Baldacci a few months ago and I checked it the other day and it still is months away from me getting to borrow it!!

Ugh that is annoying!
My library has a special thing they do with new books. It gets a special note in the slipcover and you can only check it out for a week and have to return it. I was the first person to get Billy Summers when it came out and I was one day away from finishing it so I returned it and my dad checked it out so I could finish it. I think the week at a time makes it more fair for everyone to be able to read it.

Wow, JoAnne, your library must not have ordered many copies - or there are a LOT of people who want to read it :) I've started putting holds on every edition in the catalog - regular print, large print, ebook, e-audio - to see which I get first. Then I cancel all the others so the people in line behind get bumped up one number :)

I think they may only have 1 or 2 copies of the ebook. I rarely get print books from the library - there's only one parking space at the library and they aren't open in the morning when I'm usually out.

I rarely get print books as well because our library closes early and I don't get off work until 5:30 most nights. But I have so many books to read as it is, I do find time to check out new releases when I have the chance.

I have a challenge to read a book where the MC has to put off a large task in order to recover from an illness (say who and what).
I don't want to re-read books I know this happens, anyone think of any books for this?
I don't read horror, romance or sci fi and not much fantasy.
THANK YOU

Maybe someone else will!"
Thanks for trying JoAnne - its a toughie for sure.
I am not sure if this would count? I Thought You Said This Would Work by Ann Wertz Garvin.
One of the three friends has cancer so she can't go get her dog from her ex before the dog is put to sleep so her two best friends go on a road trip to get it. The only thing I could think of,
I agree this is a really tough challenge

actually there is another book I can think of Murder at the Truck Stop. The sheriff has a bad case of flu and can't go investigate a murder case. Possibility.
