Magik was brought to Novel Kingdom through the efforts of Fred the Magician in an effort to battle the Great White Dragon.

Spells may be cast instead of a physical attack. Casting the spell will use up the casting materials. Each spell cast will require it's own set of materials.

Certain monsters are susceptible to certain types of spells. If no notation is given, the base attack of the spell takes affect. Otherwise, the modifier for any specific type of spell will be listed.

Typically:
- Water is strong against Fire
- Fire is strong against Earth
- Earth is strong against Air
- Air is strong against Water
- Life is strong against Death
- Death is strong against Life

Note: The base attack will be modified based on strength or weakness of a creature to a particular element. Unless otherwise noted, if weak to a spell the monster will take twice base damage, if strong to a spell the monster will take half base damage.

Additional modifiers may exist for specific creatures.

• Skeleton - An undead creature brought back to life by the great Necromancer.
10 Attack 30 HP - Modifiers: Life magik hits for double. Death magik is negated fully.


Supplies for spells can often be found through quests.

Water Spells

Splash
(view spoiler)[- Splash starts the water based spells. It summons a playful yet effective burst of water aimed to douse small flames and distract enemies. Water magik thrives on adaptability, and Splash embodies this with its quick, resourceful strike.

Splash - Base Attack 10.
Casting Materials - 1 Kelpie Skin, 1 Pail of Water

• Splash Target - The simplest of all enemies. The straw test target. (Population: 3)

Fire Spells

Firebolt

The most basic of all fire spells is the firebolt. Learned by entry level heroes for centuries, the firebolt is steeped in tradition and accidental arson. At its core, it involves lighting a ball on fire and hurling it at your target.

Fred the Magician sets up 3 targets. If you can successfully destroy the targets, he will announce that are you are trained in the art of the Firebolt.

Inferno
[(view spoiler)[Inferno is a devastating fire spell that unleashes the relentless fury of flame. By weaving together the smoldering strength of an Ember Shard, the volatile ignition of Phoenix Feathers, and the sheer destructive force of a cloud of burning splinters, the caster summons a towering blaze that engulfs all in its path, reducing even the strongest defenses to nothing but ash.
Fire magic like Inferno proves especially potent against earth-based creatures, honoring the ancient truth that not even stone or soil can endure the ravages of fire.

Fred the Magician, feeling both daring and (he hopes) fireproof, has lined up three clay golems for you to practice on. If your flames succeed in reducing them to mere piles of scorched pottery, Fred will declare you a true master of Inferno—assuming he doesn’t sprint off to fetch a bucket of water first.

Inferno – Base Attack 15.
Casting Materials: 1 Ember Shard, 1 Tree Branch, 3 Phoenix Feathers.

Earth Spells

Tremor

Tremor begins the line of earth based spells. It can disrupt air based creatures by disturbing the air around it. The core of this spell is the opposing forces between earth and air and their explosive nature.

Fred the Magician sets up 3 targets. If you can successfully destroy the targets, he will announce that are you are trained in the art of Tremor.

Tremor Tremor - Base Attack 10.
Casting Materials - 1 Bird Feather, 1 Clump of Dirt

• Target - The simplest of all enemies. The straw test target. (Population: 3)

Whirlwind

Whirlwind starts the wind based spells. It swirls up water based enemies causing them to become destabilized. In essence, air magik is based on forces mixed with great velocities.

Whirlwind - Base Attack 10.
Casting Materials - 1 Carrot, 1 Snap Pea

• Whirlwind Target - The simplest of all enemies. The straw test target. (Population: 3)

Zest

Fred, the magician, has let you in on a little secret. The secret of life! Not immortal life, or even extended life, just normal life. You suppose it's better than nothing.

Fred the Magician sets up 3 targets. If you can successfully destroy the targets, he will announce that are you are trained in the art of the Zest.

Zest - Base Attack 10.
Casting Materials - 1 Life Wisp, 1 Minor Heal Potion

• Zest Target - The simplest of all enemies. The straw test target. (Population: 3)

Fred, the Magician, has been commenting lately that you're full of life, zest even. If you can enhance that zest you can bring forth a much bolder life magik for a true to life experience.

You may not learn this spell until you have learned Zest.
