Welcome to the group, Sarah! Have you tried Sleepless, Vol. 1 or Isola, Vol. 1? I also love all the books you mentioned and I find these to be in a similar fantasy vein.

My reading preferences are across the board. Traditional super hero, indie, manga, I'll read pretty much anything and I tend to find something to really enjoy out of most of them.
I recently found the I Read Comic Books podcast through another podcast (Link in Bio -- now Favs) and I have been binging through the backlog. I have been taking notes of all the interesting books mentioned that I've missed over the last year and my to-be-read list is getting longer and longer. This is making me very happy.
I've been lurking in this community for a bit and I figured it was time to introduce myself.
Hi, all!

Welcome aboard, Geoff! As someone who has spent a total of three hours since Sunday organizing his floppy collection, I totally respect your digital decisions. Glad to hear you're showing your LCS some love though!
It's great to hear that you're enjoying the show! If you have anything specific you want to tell us, now's a great time- our listener survey is up! Check it out here.

Thanks, Brian! I'm in the process of organizing my floppy collection as well. Are you doing anything different than what we heard you doing on the last episode about the organization?
I'm going to do the survey soon! Thanks for providing the link.

I'm Rachel from Delaware. I have been reading comic books since 2016 (when I started doing the Read Harder reading challenge) so I'm still a fairly new reader. I even remember the first one I read, that being Persepolis, Volume 1. So far my absolute favorites are The Backstagers, Vol. 1, Descender, Vol. 1: Tin Stars, and The Tea Dragon Society.
I look forward to adding more comic books to my TBR! :)

Welcome! Those are some solid favorites!

I am Solseit, originally from Italy yet lived abroad and still am (in Germany).
I have been exposed to X-Men since I was a child - which are still some of my favorite characters of all times - and I am learning about the Marvel universe slowly by steadily. I am less familiar with the DC universe and certainly everything other than under these major brands.
I am also in love with manga - and I have a soft spot for One Piece and for My Hero Academia.
I also love blogging about stories and draw as much as possible.
I am also happy that I could finally spend time looking for groups dedicated to Comics!

I am a comicworm and a reviewer. I like Disney comics but especially BD's & indies (IDW Transformers forever!!!).
The last two years I am very dissappointed by the newest superhero comics.

There's still some good superhero comics out there. Have you read Tom King's Batman or Tom Taylor's All-New Wolverine run?

I will check the Batman story you suggested though - DC is quite obscure for me so I am going to appreciate all the help I can get there!

DC is a mess.

DC was my favorite company when I grew up, and I was amazed by Crisis on Infinite Earths (yeah, I've been reading that long). Since the reboot, IMHO, they've been steadily slipping to the point where I no longer read my favorite character or team (Nightwing, Titans). I hope they pull out of this nosedive soon.

I fell off the DC wagon when they started double shipping a bunch of books I was reading in 2017 like Wonder Woman and Batman. They were too much for me to keep up with (especially with all the crossovers) and weren't consistently enjoyable enough (for me personally - I'm more into Marvel) to justify the cost.
Have any of you enjoyed DC's switch to double shipping?

Manga is certainly My Hero Academia by far. One Piece is in my heart because I was the same age as Luffy when I was first exposed to One Piece (and I used to be a sailor loving the water - and I confess my first anime crush was on Zolo...).
As for comics, I am torn. I am actually liking the issue and a half I read so far of the Uncanny X-Men (2018) #1: Director's Edition with the Dissassembled story line. I also am liking the Thor (2018-) #1 story so far - I am two issues in; here the art (and the coloring especially) is just something else, beautiful. I was trying to prepare for The War of the Realms that is going to be the big storyline of Marvel in the first part of the year.
Also Deadpool (2018-) #1 is quite funny - if I need something super light to just laugh, this is where I go!

Yep, Red Hood & The Outlaws was my first comic.
My all-time favorite comic is definitely Batman & Robin ran by Peter J. Tomasi and Patrick Gleason. And yeah, Super-sons too, I guess. I love kids. Huhuhuhu.
I enjoy reading books centering LGBTQ themes, and manga. Anway, there's still so much for me to read! And hopefully, I can start exploring other comic publishing houses as well.

Here are some comics and graphic novels i'd say a worth a look with LGBT Themes
1. Flutter by Jennie Wood
2. Kim & Kim by Magdalene Visaggio
3. Love Is Love by Marc Andreyko and Others
4. Bingo Love by Tee Franklin

You really can't go wrong with anything Peter Tomasi wrote. He's one of DC's unsung heros.

Welcome Hermit. If you're just getting back into comics, I suggest you try out www.hoopladigital.com. It's free from most libraries and gives you access to thousands of digital graphic novels.

Hermit,
What were your favorites back in the day?

Preacher: I read most of these up until 2000 or so.
The Sandman: I think I stopped when Gaiman did.
It's been quite the hiatus.

My, my! Thank you for the list, Devon. I'm definitely reading these!

IKR. He's one of my favorites. He knows what he writes, and he's really good with his craft. I hope they let him write more titles soon. T__T

I used to only read the old stuff we had from the 90s, but in 2016 I wanted to try some newer Marvel things and got hooked on Ms. Marvel (it's so good!). Since then I've been keeping up with newer Marvel comics. I also read a lot of Image stuff and some of the Boom! series (Lumberjanes and Giant Days are my comfort reads), as well as independent things and some webcomics (Stand Still Stay Silent is my favourite).
In general, I like Fantasy and Sci-Fi comics as well as stories with queer (LGBT+) themes.

Noice. I would also recommend checking out some titles from BOOM! Studios and Oni Press

Nice picks. I do read alot of Image but i also try to actively read from other publishers. The ones besides Image that i have read the most from are Vertigo. BOOM! Studios and Aftershock. I have read a handful of Dark Horse, Oni Press, IDW, Avatar, Dynamite and Wildstorm and the rest i have read under 8 titles from

Hi Craig,
It's nice to see another goodreads friend here.

Hi Douglas. Another goodreads friend! Are you guys stalking me? Are we talking OG West Coast Avengers or the current series? The OG title was the only comic I ever subscribed to by mail. I never got another one after an issue showed up ripped but man did I love that series.

Those are really excellent comics to start with! I'm hideously behind on Saga and Monstress, but I do plan on catching up once I make it through some of my TBR list (which only seems to get longer, help)
Welcome!
