Hello All! Since August is a time for getting back into the school year for a lot of us, I thought it might be a good idea for our theme to be about lessons learned! What was a book that really taught you something? Whether it was an important life lesson that changed your outlook on the world or a book that taught you something small like where Vine Snakes come from. Just something that you learned that stuck with you. I think it might be fun to see what everyone suggests for this one! Thank you for participating!

Ravi Babu The old man and the sea is a good book if you do not mind a little philosophy. :)

Dustin | 154 comments Well first I was going to go with Fahrenheit 451but then I thought I had to go with Misery, and then On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft.

Kandice I would love to read On Writing with a group! I second Dustin's nomination. :)

Lexi Goyette I've read all of these a few years ago and would love to revisit each of these! I like all of these suggestions so far!

Kandice I want to apologize for not participating in group reads recently, but I own all the nominations so far and absolutely will this time.

That sentence feels like a teenager saying they won't break curfew again! *sigh*

It's ok Kandice! It's all I can do to keep up and I know I'm not as busy as you are so I 100% understand!

I think my suggestion would be The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon. I really enjoyed that book and it definitely taught me a lot about a subject I had always been interested in but really did not know that much about. It also taught me that Percy Fawcett was a flawed badass haha.

If you guys have any more suggestions post them now because I will put the poll up either tonight or in the morning! :)
