What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

This is a suspense novel. I remember the beginning fairly well. A man lives by himself on the beach. He goes for a run at night and finds a young girl who needs help. He figures out that some organization is searching for her and he helps her to not get caught by them. I think she has some sort of psychic ability, but can't remember exactly what her abilities were. I believe that I read it maybe 2 or 3 years ago.

Runner by Patrick Lee matches your description. The hero is ex-Special Forces and made me think of Jason Bourne.

LOL, I know what you mean. I was reading through other people's searches thinking that, of course, I would recognize a book that I had read to help someone else out, but nothing sounded familiar!

I looked up this book and saw that the author has written another book with the same main character, so I'm going to try to read that one also. He also wrote another series about another main character that I would like to check out also.

Both series are quite good. "Runner" is perhaps my favorite from what I recall, although "The Breach" has some interesting sci fi ideas. I loved the cleverness of Sam Dryden and his ability to escape impossible situations.
