He nodded and stared at the ceiling as he continued speaking, lost in memory. "At the time, he could've sworn she was the most amazing woman he'd ever met," he explained. "She was older, in her late 20s. She was beautiful and interested in more than just fucking, maybe not a relationship but she liked to talk... Liked to get to know the teen. And for once.... For once he felt like he might have a reason to live. So he did." He said. "They dated or slept together for about a year, depends who you ask..." He trailed off, trying to gain courage for what he was about to say.

She leaned against his seat, crossing her arms over his abdomen. "Did she betray you? Or cheat?" She asked.

"Something like that but I never said that is was me," he said and shrugged. He nodded, "the 20 year old woke up one morning and found she'd disappeared entirely from his life."

Although he didn't say it was about him, she knew. She frowned and rubbed his tummy. "I'm sorry." She said. "That's awful."

"I thought I loved her... But she left not a speck of herself anywhere, I started to think that maybe it was my mind playing tricks on me again. That she wasn't real and my mind made her all up cause thats something it would do. Then I saw her about 7 months later when she showed up on my doorstep." He said, forgetting it was a 'story'. "By then I was back on weed or meth or something." He explained, reaching down to take her hand in his gently. "That night I think I fell in love all over again," He said, holding his breath. "Cause she was holding a purple little bundle of blankets in her arms." He said, now looking at her. He cleared his throat, "he. I mean, he, not I." He watched her for a bit, "I know I should've told you... I just didn't know how." He said quietly.

She furrowed her brows, listening intently. She held his hand, rubbing her thumb across the back of his hand. "You...you have a baby? A child?" She asked:

"Her names Amelia," he said, nodding a little as he stared at her. He had expected her to run for the hills when told her but was glad she was still standing there.

She nodded and touched the tattoo on his chest that was her initials. "How old is she?" She asked gently.

"3 and a half," he said carefully.

She nodded and grabbed the jar of vacaline. She rubbed it onto the new tattoo. "So she ditches you and comes back with a baby? How do you know it's yours?"

"We did some tests back then," he told her.

"That's still low of her to do that. Leave then come back like that I mean." She said.

He nodded, staring up at her. "I guess it was."

She was quiet for a few minutes before she finally looked at him. "Thanks for telling me."

He carefully nodded, "you're not going to run for the hills, are you?" He joked.

"Why would I?" She shrugged. "I mean if you would have kept this from me for like a year yeah I'd be pissed but I mean you have a kid..so what?"

He nodded, "thanks." He said softly. He looked at his watch. "Speaking of which, I have to go get her from Katy's. I promised to take her to the park," he explained and looked to her again. "You can come with me and meet her... If you'd like," he offered.

She looked surprised at the offer. "Really? You want me to meet her?"

He carefully nodded, "this wouldn't work otherwise..." He said. "And I want Amelia to like who I'm dating." He explained.

"We're not dating." She teased again.

"We will be though," he laughed.

"Will she like me?" Natalia bit her lip.

"You're nice so she'll love you," he smiled.

"Should I dye my hair her favourite colour?" She touched her fire read hair.

"Sure," he laughed. "She loves the colour pink."

"Looks like we'll need to take a stop at my place." She grinned.

He laughed, "but we have to go now, I told her I'd be there in 15 minutes," he explained.

She pouted cutely. "Poo."

He laughed softly, "come on." He said and stood. He grabbed a large plaster, "come here." He said.

She stepped up to him, moving her hair out of the way of her shoulder.

He put the plaster over her new tattoo and then turned around to put one on his own.

She grabbed her shirt and pulled it on, then shrugged on her jacket.

"I'm going to go grab a shirt from upstairs, give me a sec," he said and went upstairs. He pulled a fresh shirt on and came back, grabbing his jacket. "Ready?" He asked, handing her stuff for the tattoo.

She shoved the stuff in her purse and nodded. "Yup."

"Okay, lets go," he grabbed his keys to lock up and then walked out and held the doors open for her.

She nodded her thanks and waited for him.

He walked with her on the sidewalk again. "It's 5 minutes away by foot," he explained.

"Okay." She nodded. "Do you not live with her?" She asked/

He nodded and walked.

"I'm nervous." She admitted.

He smiled gently, "you'll be okay."

"But what if she doesn't like me?" She frowned.

"She will," he said. "She's only 3, as longs as you get her stuff she likes, she'll adore you." He chuckled. "Thats why I brought some sweets."

"Oh". She giggled. She nodded and squeezed his hand.

He pulled some sweets out of his pocket and handed them to her. "Her favourites are the toffee but she wont mind eating anything else."

"Toffee? That gets stuck my teeth all the time." She laughed and popped a Candy into her mouth.

He laughed and shrugged, "ask her about it." He said. "Just don't give her too much."

"I won't." She smiled.
