He held onto her waist like he'd promised and watched her.
She floated on her back for a bit, calming herself down.
He watched her, standing on his feet as he held her up.
“It’s kind of nice, floating here.” She said
"It's.nicer when you do it alone," he smiled.
“What do you mean?” She went back to normal, wrapping her arms around him again.
"I mean, you're floating but I'm holding.onto you. It's nicer when you float without anyone's help."
She went back onto her back. “Hold me but don’t tell me when you’re letting go.”
"Alright," he said and held her up before carefully letting go. He then went on his back, too.
She hesitated a little, but kept herself floating.
Archer floated on his back and then stood up right to watch her again.
She stopped floating and tried wadding.
He turned to her again and smiled, "now try swimming over to me.
She nodded and swam over to him slowly, only panicking a little
He was standing a little further away than the last time but he still watched her carefully, just in case.
She lost her momentum and slipped under the water with s gasp.
He gasped and quickly swam over to catch her.
She sank under but kicked herself back up when he caught her. She coughed out water.
He held her up and kept his arms around her, "shhh, you're okay."
She coughed some more and huddled against him, whimpering.
He used one arm to get them back to the shallow end of the water. He sat down and held her in his lap.
She wiped at her face she coughed some more. She hugged herself and sniffled.
He patted her back, "you're okay, love," he said, holding her between his legs.
She nodded. “I didn’t like that.” She said
"It's... the unpleasant part of the swimming," he nodded in understanding.
She nodded and sighed. “Swimming is hard.”
"You were getting the hang of it," he said and gently kissed her neck. "There's no reason not try again."
“Maybe later. I need a break.” She said
"I understand," he smiled and then said, "I need a tan anyway," he joked.
She looked him over. “There’s no way you can tan.” She snickered.
"And why not?" he asked, playfully offended.
“Look how pale you are.” She laughed
"It's worth a try," he said and pressed a kiss to her neck.
She giggled and curled up against him.
He grinned and wrapped his arms around her.
She then frowned and pursed her lips.
“Nothing.” She cleared her throat. “Let’s go relax,”
He stared at her for a moment before he stood up and held his hand out to help her up.
She stood up and shook water off her legs.
He dropped his hand to side and walked back to where they'd laid their stuff out.
She sat on their towels with a sigh.
He stretched a little before he laid down. "I'm going to end up falling asleep and getting sunburnt," he joked.
“Oh I think I brought sunscreen.” She reached for her bag.
"That would be helpful," he said and sat up again.
