Readjusted my schedule for the new Malazan reading plan.

Updated to include series tracker.

Looking at your abandoned series I wonder if I should just declare defeat on a few more of mine.

Some of them I did enjoy, but thought either I liked them as a standalone or I didn't like them well enough to continue the series.

A Crucible of Souls was one I liked as a standalone and I'm happy to leave the series at that. The Rook was one I loved the concept and the beginning, but it slowly fell apart and near the end, I didn't have enough interest to continue. Of course there were some that I gave up the series because I just didn't like the first one.

I am not finished The Darkness That Comes Before.

I finished two of my buddy reads for the month: The King's Blood and Reaper's Gale, but did not have a chance to get to The Lions of Al-Rassan.

I took The Dagger and the Coin off of my Buddy Reads so hopefully I can keep up with Malazan and even join a standalone or two.

Was the Dagger and the Coin starting to get disappointing? I stopped after book one because I was a little bored...

It was pretty good, I just didn't feel the need to continue after awhile. The story is fun, but I never felt that I was really anxious to know what would happen next.

Finished my November buddy read which was also the only fantasy book I read in November. Return of the Crimson Guard

Updated to include the Greatcoats and more Malazan.

Well, I only had one book for this month: completed Stonewielder.

Added Ship of Magic for March :)

Finished The Bear and the Nightingale and Dust of Dreams from February. Will continue reading The Lions of Al-Rassan into March.

Completed my Malazan read and bailed out on Ship of Magic for now.

I'm finally going to join in on a buddy read again in July. :)

So I cheated and already read Storm Front because I didn't have any other audiobooks at the time.

Added The Broken Earth.

Jenna, what date did you want to do for Legion of Flame in November. I've Leviathan Wakes on the 21st so would prefer before that? Maybe around the 10th?

Haha...no don't cringe...this is totally NOT a smutty birthday greeting. Gimme a moment to find the sacred in the profane, won't you? What I was getting at is that "pure creation" always ends in happiness. Which is why, I suppose, we paltry humans feel such a great peace and rightness when *makes air quotes* out alone...communing with "Nature" and yada yada.

So I don't know what moment of cosmic rightness it was when you decided to create FBR but it is a wonderful place, stuffed to bursting with the rightest, jolliest camarading-est book lovey folks who come together in ways that...I am yet to find replicated elsewhere.
And I do get around, no?

Scoron asked somewhere what we liked best about this group...I rather think he was expecting a concrete answer rather than a woffly one 😂 but my mental reply was immediate.
It is how we are together here. This alchemy that is found nowhere else. Why else does everyone keep checking their notifications?

You did this, Jenna Kathleen. You make more than 2000 people happy + you do it every day...you and the other four (yaass yass nobody is disputing this)...but today is especially about you.
