You know you have a crazy book schedule when you have to schedule breaks from reading months in advance.

LOL NOT! I got myself into a mess by over-committing and realized I had to get it on paper or I was screwed.

Updated with A Crucible of Souls added and several completed removed and one going to wait also deleted.
A Crucible of Souls done and removed.
Age of Iron added.
The Thorn of Emberlain apparently won't be released on September 22nd so I've removed it for now.

That's just for the group reads. My other reading is spur of the moment.

Removed series tracker to not maintain this in two spots since we are doing the shame challenge.

Cool. It might help to spawn group reads for cleanup.

I'm on the fence. Honestly the story line wasn't bad but the author's style sucked. I felt like I was reading a police report at times. The characters lacked depth. The first 50 pages especially was really bad. I've heard the last two are so much better but books people make fun of as overrated genre darlings such as Hunger Games and Divergent were so much better.

I want to try the Red Rising series, but I've heard a lot of what Scott has said. The first one is not great and it does pick up later, but do I really want to commit to that?
I got Red Rising on a $1.99 Kindle sale. If you can do the same it's probably worth it and maybe you'll like it more than I did. I wouldn't pay the full $9.99. For those who do audio Tim Gerard Reynolds who does Riyeria is the narrator. He's excellent and I've heard makes it much more enjoyable.
I tried to read the first Red Rising book, but it didn't capture my attention. I got to around 25% and decided it wasn't for me. I was bored. I agree with you Scott, the writing didn't really flow.

He really does make it better. I think I probably bumped the first two books up by a star because of his narration. Then I read the third one on ebook. I could hear his voice as I read it, so that helped it too.

Also, for me, the narration by Tim Gerard Reynolds did nothing to improve my boredom, but which reading voice you like is a very personal thing I guess.
Hi Scott. I know we talked about reading The Demon King next month, but I can't fit it in. I could in January but your schedule already looks pretty full. Let me know if another month would suit you.

Added Greatcoats and Long Price Quartet Series along with the rest of Malazan...........which books me through June. :)
Just bumping this because I haven't since December. I have kept the schedule up to date. I've been been remiss/lazy in bumping.
Since I plugged in the whole Malazan schedule into my tracker it's weird to me to be planning books 2-3 years out... a few months ago I wasn't planning books more than 2-3 DAYS out... excluding new releases I was anticipating...

Yep totally weird until you're used to it and then it's the new normal.

You were talking about loving The Emperor's Soul somewhere, weren't you?
I started working through Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection at work last night, and really liked the story, as well... really starting to feel like I think you do, that Sanderson's busy schedule makes the wait for anything non-tentpole (Mistborn, Stormlight Archive, etc) kinda excruciating... I'm sure it's only going to get worse as I finish out his "lesser" works...
The Eleventh Metal has me wanting to do a Mistborn relisten... Allomancer Jack was OK... I'm liking Secret History (just finishing the Well of Ascension part, I think)...
