BTW even the audio for audible is split into 5 sections. I've never seen that before with Audible and I've listened to some massive books.

In my audible experience, it is very common - also Book #1 and #2 of The Stormlight Archive were split in 5 or even 6 parts.
And it it not limited to Sanderson's stories (I have it on Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb, Mirror Sighy by Kristen Britain, The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan, and I could continue).

My copies of the first two books are all in one part. All of the Wheel of Time books which are massive are one file. Since you've experienced it differently I'm wondering if that's an Audible setting and if I unknowingly changed my preferences. I'll have to look into it further.

Let me know if it is a setting - at this point setting might be the correct answer for the difference in set-up. I am also buying on Audible Global (as well as my local Audible) and the experience is the same on both. Curiosity!
I did what I do... I pulled up the POVs on the Part # headers... there are ALOT this time round... (view spoiler) so it's a bit more spoilery than when I checked like this in WoR

You're like a spoiler addict.
I'm picking up my copy at lunch.

NO WAY

That's insane!

I solved the late release in Europe by buying the audiobook on Audible. Just think this as a possibility if you can, it might help :D
Yet, we get some advantages when the books are first released in the UK :D

I also noticed that Kindle in Europe has the book available today - the whole thing, in case that is something else for you! And I might be repetitive, you might have already considered all of the above; yet I understand the struggle and I love, just love, paper copies but that does not work all the times!

I'm actually considering getting oathbringer through book depository so I get the us edition because I rather have an inconsistent paperback/hardback rather than 2 entirely different editions 😂😂

And I think remember seeing some Japanese covers of the riyria revelations somewhere but I remember how cool they looked hundred times better than the normal ones
I dunno about you guys... but my ebook says 1598 pages... this might be the longest book I've ever read...

But I must say this is probably the only book that so many people in this group is hyped up for its amazing

I am not sure it really makes a difference but I am sure it helps to better understand certain dynamics.

That said, I got an email saying Oathbringer was delivered at the house....

And I do have it in audio. Too bad my commute isn't longer :)

I needed sleep :(... Maintenance woke me up banging on door... Today is the beginning of my weekend tho, so I'll read all night tonight and tomorrow... might finish before I go back to work on Thursday... I'll just reiterate what these other people said about Edgedancer... Sanderson suggested reading it in the preface of this... and said in the endnote of Edgedancer that the goal was to show some events that would have happened off-page for Lift and "Darkness", otherwise, by the time they next appeared in the main series books...

Do I need to read Edgedancer first? I meant to but didn't get time before today"
Chris, you should read Edgedancer first, or you might be confused by the actions of some characters at Oathbringer.
@miche: If that turns out to be true, that's truly Machiavellian... probably won't find out one way or another until book 5 (when I expect we'll finally get Gavilar's POV of the night)

I really like how at each book we are getting a different pov from the same event, with the culmination of Gavilar's. :)
