I am looking for horror books that will make me go 'what?!?! I'm in a rut. I don't mind any horror as long as it not twilight fakeness. Thank u for ur time

This book had me pacing up and down a lot of the time while I read it and few books get that reaction out of me. For me it wasn't all that scary (although I've read plenty of horror over the years and it would take a lot to scare me) - it was a full on adrenalin fest though.
Bad Games: A Novel
Another very good read - frightening because it could happen. No monsters other than the human kind

Survivor - human monsters
The Strain - vampires
Ravenous - werewolves
Afraid - more human monsters!
