3. Is the ending satisfying? If so, why? If not, why not...and how would you change it?

I thought it was more than a little hokey. I get the idea of having friends at the party who had been alienated and are now reconciled. But all of a sudden everyone turns out to be a good person, including the nurse who we are to believe instantly has her sexual predatory behaviors resolved?

Yes, we are called to love everyone, but does that mean we are to invite people who try to do us harm to our child's baptism celebration?

I didn't find Joe's conversion (re-version?) very convincing, and I wish there had been more about Elizabeth's faith journey. I wish Joe had some conversations about his faith with his priest, his relatives, his colleagues...
I was happy for DeLaToure's softening from being so demanding. A little hard to believe a heart surgeon could be in denial about his own heart problems, especially while making liberal use of nitroglycerin.
