Town Name in The Gunslinger - reference?

(view spoiler)[The first town the gunslinger encounters is called Tull, which I read (on the internet) that King has said he named in reference to Jethro Tull. I prefer to believe it was after Elder Tull - a notable character from Zane Grey's classic western Riders of the Purple Sage. Does anyone know if either or both is true? (hide spoiler)]
